With air quality deteriorating across North India and the paddy harvesting season underway, CAQM has intensified efforts to check stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana.

Flying Squads have been deployed across 34 districts - 18 in Punjab and 16 in Haryana - from October 1 to November 30. They will monitor ground conditions, coordinate with farmers and local authorities, and submit daily reports for timely action.

| Bapu’s idea of a better world was rooted in a simple truth: consume mindfully, live responsibly, and respect nature.

From choosing and local production to advocating , Mahatma Gandhi’s way of life reflected principles that remain deeply relevant to the sustainability conversation today.

His legacy reminds us that sustainability is not just about what we build, but also about what we choose to consume, conserve and pass on.

This Gandhi Jayanti, let’s embrace a way of living where progress goes hand in hand with responsibility - for people, communities and the planet. 🌱

♻️ What if waste isn’t waste?

Across India, cities are finding smarter ways to give plastic a second life - from reusable-bag ATMs and plastic buy-backs to turning hard-to-recycle waste into useful products.

The bigger takeaway? Circularity is no longer just a concept. It is becoming a local, practical solution.

When citizens, businesses and city systems work together, plastic can move from bin → resource → value.

The sustainability opportunity lies in scaling these everyday innovations because a truly circular city isn’t one that just collects more waste.

It’s one that wastes less.

India’s rhino conservation story is a remarkable success.

With 3,323 greater one-horned rhinos, India is home to nearly 81.5% of the species’ global population. Assam leads the way, with 2,600+ rhinos in Kaziranga National Park.

A powerful reminder that sustained conservation, protected habitats and community participation can help wildlife thrive.

Protecting rhinos means protecting the ecosystems they call home.

Sattu is having a fine-dining moment. But its real story is much bigger.

From a humble staple to gourmet menus, sattu is being rediscovered for its flavour, versatility and nutritional value.

We don’t always need new superfoods. Sometimes, we simply need to rediscover the old ones.

Climate crisis is not a warning anymore. It is here.

Nepal’s devastating floods have affected 84,270 people, claimed 1,367 lives, left 5,132 missing, and seen 13,646 people rescued.

Behind every number is a family, a home and a life changed forever.

We cannot stop at responding to disasters. We have to prepare for a world where such disasters are becoming more frequent and more devastating.

Nepal has given us a warning.
We must choose to listen.

Change doesn’t always begin with a movement. Sometimes, it begins with one person refusing to look away.

20-year-old Bittu Tabahi has spent months cleaning Madhya Pradesh’s Ajnar River, removing plastic, waste and religious offerings, and even turning them into compost.

An example to emulate.
