Alleged IGP TUNDE DISU: MOB ATTACKS AND JUNGLE JUSTICE WILL BE TREATED AS HOMICIDE

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Tunde Disu, has warned Nigerians to desist from jungle justice and mob attacks.

According to the IGP, anyone involved in extrajudicial killings will be treated as a homicide suspect and prosecuted under the law.

He said the Nigeria Police Force will no longer watch while citizens take the law into their own hands, stressing that mob action is a criminal offense on its own.

"Those who participate in mob attacks, whether directly or by aiding and abetting, will face the full wrath of the law. Jungle justice is murder, and we will investigate and prosecute it as such," the IGP warned.

The Police boss urged Nigerians to report suspected criminals to the nearest police station instead of resorting to violence.

He added that the force remains committed to protecting lives and ensuring due process in all cases across the country.

This warning comes amid growing concerns over mob killings in different communities.

APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru has delivered his polling unit to the party's governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, as votes were counted during Saturday's Osun State governorship election.

At Polling Unit 003 in the Alagba area of Osogbo, where Basiru and his wife, Abibat, cast their ballots, Oyebamiji claimed 177 votes. Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party trailed with 60 votes.

Alleged Former Army Chief Irabor Calls for Immediate Arrest of Sani Jingir and Ahmad Gumi

Former Chief of Army Staff, General Lucky Irabor, has called for the arrest of Islamic clerics Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir and Sheikh Ahmad Gumi over alleged statements he believes could incite public unrest.
