Tekken 3 takes place 19 years after Tekken 2.
The story focuses on Jin Kazama, the son of Kazuya Mishima and Jun Kazama . After the appearance of a mysterious creature called Ogre, Jin’s mother Jun disappears. Jin is then taken in by his grandfather Heihachi Mishima, who trains him in Mishima fighting style. When Ogre returns, Heihachi sends Jin to fight it during the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3.
Jin defeats Ogre, but Heihachi betrays him and shoots him, hoping to eliminate the Devil bloodline. However, Jin survives as the Devil Gene awakens, and he escapes, swearing revenge on Heihachi.
Tekken 3 sets the foundation for the Mishima family conflict and introduces Jin as the new central character of the series.
