โ€ผ๏ธVictims Are Not the Villains

Running for your life after seeing arson, does not make you a criminal. If Kukis were truly the perpetrators, why were they the ones fleeing while no one pursued them? Stop weaponizing tragedy to falsely blame an entire community.

A bomb blast took place at Chรผmoukedima today and five Assam Rifles personnel have been reportedly injured in the incident.
According to eye-witnesses and ground reports, the bomb blast was highly powerful.

It is most likely that the bomb was hidden inside a parked Auto Rickshaw, waiting to cause maximum damage.

The sudden explosion took the security forces completely by surprise.

The injured Assam Rifles jawans were quickly taken to the hospital to receive medical care and treatment.

The police and security forces have cordoned off the entire spot and started a full investigation to find out who is behind this act. The area is under tight security now as developing details are being monitored by the higher-ups.

Further updates are awaited as the investigation continues.

Thousands of mourners from across the Kuki community gathered in Kangpokpi on Sunday to pay final respects to Haolal Singsit, the 53-year-old farmer shot dead while working in his jhum field at Govajang village on July 11.

An atmosphere of grief engulfed the Kangpokpi Community Hall where the mortal remains were kept after being brought from his native village. Men, women and youths offered floral tributes, prayers and stood in solidarity with the bereaved family after the post-mortem at the district hospital.

Haolal Singsit was allegedly killed while working alongside his wife Nemneikim Singsit, who narrowly escaped after suspected NSCN-IM and ZUF-Kamson militants opened fire on the couple at Govajang village in Kangpokpi district.

Addressing the media, Committee on Tribal Unity spokesperson Ng. Lun Kipgen described the Govajang killing as a testament to the nature of Naga supremacist ideology, alleging continued targeting of innocent Kuki civilians despite repeated appeals for peace.

Kipgen questioned the claimed high moral ground after the deaths of six individuals, asserting that the latest killing showed armed aggression against innocent civilians remained unabated despite progress claimed by investigating agencies.

The CoTU spokesperson said it was deeply ironic that despite progress reportedly made by the NIA and other agencies on July 10, the relentless aggression by Naga armed groups continued without interruption.

Recalling previous incidents, Kipgen noted the Govajang attack was the second violent incident in the Twilang area along the IT Road within a month, following the fatal Lasan incident on June 9, and occurred barely a day after the arrest of two suspects in a high-profile case.

He termed the situation a charade of justice, saying neither the state government nor security forces could absolve themselves while such attacks continued, and questioned how terrorists could run amok just a day after a combing operation was conducted to flush out anti-social elements.

Calling for decisive intervention, Kipgen urged the Government of India and Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand to contain secessionist Tangkhul-led NSCN and ZUF groups and stop appeasing one community, warning the cycle of violence would continue. The remains were later taken to Govajang for the funeral amid renewed calls for justice.

Three apex student bodies in Churachandpur have given Manipur University a one-week ultimatum to withdraw its recent admission notifications and introduce alternative academic arrangements for students affected by the ongoing ethnic violence in the state.

The Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur, the Zomi Students Federation (ZSF-GHQ) and the Hmar Students Association (HSA) objected to the university's postgraduate admission notification issued on June 23, 2026 as well as its Pre-PhD admission notification released on July 1, 2026.

The suffering of innocent Kuki civilians who were simply trying to restore their livelihoods is deeply painful. Instead of being allowed to work, many were stopped by the Central Forces and allegedly subjected to severe physical assault.

If the same level of action had been taken against those blocking the roads and preventing livelihoods, the routes could have been reopened long ago.

Today, many Kuki-Zo people have lost hope and trust in the Central Forces, politicians and other leaders. As a result, many believe they must rely on their own unity and resilience.

Despite restrictions imposed on Meiteis and Kacha Nagas, their children have continued to attend schools in Kuki areas peacefully. Yet, the Kukis right to earn a livelihood continues to be denied.

The Central Forces requested three days to resolve the issue and that was granted. However, with no meaningful solution forthcoming, many in the community feels it is time to rebel and assert their rights by their own.
