It is high time the Govt take seriousness in education sector in Nagaland.
People like me whose parents spend more than 70 percent of their income in education would understand the importance of improving Govt education system.
The govt must understand the importance of improving Govt schools; when the Govt schools improve and prove better than private schools, more students would enroll and the expenditure that we spend now for education at a private school can be saved for secondary needs and trainings for our wellbeing and holistic development.
It is a known fact that when an individual improves, the society improves; every student's development in every nook and corner of Nagaland is important, especially for the economically marginalised areas for the overall development of Nagaland's productivity and economy, therefore our state's education system must be upgraded.
Unfortunately, the Govt despite knowing these facts and outcomes seem to be indifferent about the need for developing a sound education system. One of the important factors of underperformance can be found in the statement of the outgoing Principle Director C Shinavas IAS, in response to RPP, clearly stated that most of the SDEOs or DEOs are on the verge of retirement and there is a lack of sufficient numbers of eligible officers which in other words he means that the current SDEO and DEO are not efficient at all. If they know all this drawbacks why not atleast 50 percent recruitment for the post of SDEO and DEO be recruited directly through NPSC and 50 percent on promotion, so that eligible and efficient officers in education department at district level would also rise which would benefit the citizens and Govt’ as well.
The other drawback we all know is that maximum teachers post has been filled through backdoor appointments and the deserving trained teachers are left scopeless without teachers post been advertised. The education department as well as the Govt should feel asham
