EAC DIYUN CALLS MEETING OVER CONTROVERSIAL GIRLS' HOSTEL PROJECT

The Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Diyun under Changlang district has issued a meeting notice to discuss the construction of a new Girls’ Hostel for the Government Higher Secondary School, Diyun, under the DAJGA scheme.

The meeting is scheduled for 8th April 2025 at 11:00 AM at the EAC’s office chamber. Key officials and stakeholders including Forest Department and a new organisation namely - People’s Committee for Demands of Right Diyun have been requested to attend.

The project ran into controversy after the villagers of Aranyapur alleged that the construction works have been undertaken without consultation with them.

19 Private Schools in Changlang Declared ‘Unauthorised,’ Admissions Barred

Changlang, April 3–Nineteen private schools in Changlang district have been declared “unauthorised” and directed not to admit students in the upcoming academic session. The decision was taken earlier in March after Lekang MLA Likha Soni raised the issue in the Arunachal Pradesh State Assembly.

According to official data, a total of 184 private schools across the state are currently unrecognized.

Meanwhile, DC Changlang have also cautioned parents and guardians against enrolling their children in unrecognized schools vide order NO:ED-7/AFFLI/2024-25. The order included Kiddy play house & Foundation School in Nampong as unauthorised.
