*DODA POLICE ARESTED A PERSON FOR UPLOADING COMMUNALLY SENSITIVE CONTENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA*

Doda, November 28, 2025:

Doda Police have registered a case against an individual and subsequently arrested for uploading highly provocative and communally sensitive content on social media, thereby promoting enmity and disturbing public harmony.

Today, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Doda by *Hassan Babur Nehru S/o Zaffer Ullah Nehru, R/o Nehru Chowk, Doda*, against Amreek Singh S/o Ranbir Singh, R/o Beoli, Doda.

In his complaint, the complainant alleged that the accused is a habitual offender who frequently livestreams inflammatory and communal speeches on Facebook. He further stated that on 26-11-2025, the accused had uploaded a post containing highly abusive, derogatory, and communal remarks against a particular community through his Facebook account titled *“Panchmukhi Pahadi Rajpoot.”*

The said post has been widely shared and circulated on social media platforms, thereby promoting hatred, ill-will, and enmity between communities and hurting religious sentiments. The content, uploaded knowingly and intentionally, is prima facie capable of disturbing public peace and communal harmony in the region.

It is further reported that the accused had previously been arrested in March 2023 for uploading similar hateful content and was sent to preventive detention in District Jail Bhaderwah.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Case FIR No. 269/2025 U/S 196 BNS has been registered at Police Station Doda, and investigation has been set into motion.

Doda Police urge the public to use social media responsibly and refrain from sharing or endorsing any content that may affect communal harmony. Strict action shall be taken against individuals involved in circulating any provocative content, promoting hatred, misinformation, or communal disharmony.

*ROUTE PERMIT/RC OF TRUCK INVOLVED IN BOVINE SMUGGLING CANCELLED, BID FOILED BY DODA POLICE – 13 BOVINES RESCUED IN ASSAR*

Doda, November 25, 2025:

Today, Doda Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the Assar area, rescuing 13 bovine animals from a vehicle bearing registration No. JK17 A 1101.

During naka checking at Assar, the naka party of Police Station Assar signalled the vehicle to stop, but the driver/accused took advantage of darkness and fled, abandoning the vehicle and the animals.

All 13 bovines were safely rescued, and the vehicle was seized on the spot.

Given the seriousness of the offence and its potential to disturb law and order, immediate correspondence was made to the ARTO Kishtwar for cancellation/suspension of the Registration Certificate (RC) and Route Permit of the vehicle.

Acting swiftly, ARTO Kishtwar, Sh. Tasleem Wani (JKAS), issued orders for suspension of the RC and route permit of the said vehicle.

Doda Police achieved a significant success today by apprehending a notorious bootlegger involved in the illegal sale and supply of liquor in the Dessa Road area of Doda.

During routine patrolling, a police team of Police Station Doda received specific information regarding illegal liquor being served inside a shop near the Juvenile Court, Doda. Acting swiftly, the police party conducted a raid at the location.

On noticing the police presence, several individuals consuming liquor fled from the spot; however, the shopkeeper was apprehended and identified as Pardeep Singh S/o Panchhi Ram R/o Bijarni, Tehsil Bhagwah, District Doda.

A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of 62 bottles of illicit liquor, including various quantities of whisky and rum, totalling 21.45 litres.

As the accused failed to produce any valid permit or explanation for the possession and sale of the liquor, FIR No. 265/2025 under Section 48(F) of the Excise Act was registered at Police Station Doda, and investigation has been set into motion.

*DODA POLICE SECURES COMMUNITY SERVICE PUNISHMENT FOR INDIVIDUAL CAUSING PUBLIC NUISANCE*

Doda, November 25, 2025:

Doda Police have secured a community service sentence against an individual involved in creating public nuisance after consuming liquor in Bhaderwah.

On 24-11-2025, one Shoket Ali S/o Ghulam Rasool, R/o Nalthi, Bhaderwah, created a nuisance in Passari Bazar, Bhaderwah. Upon receiving the information, Police promptly took cognizance of the matter, apprehended the accused under Section 355 BNS, and conducted his medical examination. The medical officer certified that the accused was under the influence of alcohol.

On 25-11-2025, the accused was produced before the Hon’ble Sub-Judge Court, Bhaderwah. After hearing the case, the Hon’ble Court convicted him and sentenced him to community service, directing him to perform cleaning work at the District Court Complex, Bhaderwah, for two days.

Doda Police remains committed to maintaining public order and ensuring prompt and lawful action against violators.

DODA POLICE TRACED MISSING LADY AND REUNITED HER WITH FAMILY

Doda, November 25, 2025:

Doda Police have successfully traced a missing lady, Sania Akhter D/o Sajad Hussain, R/o Draina Chekka, Tehsil Bhalla, District Doda, whose missing report had been lodged at Police Post Bhalla vide DDR No. 22 dated 13-08-2025.

Acting promptly on the report, Doda Police employed all available resources, including technical assistance, to locate the missing individual. After being traced and following the completion of all necessary legal formalities, she was safely handed over to her lawful heirs.

Accordingly, the missing report has been closed vide DDR No. 05 dated 25-11-2025.

November 21, 2025:

The Dy. Inspector General of Police, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, *Shri Shridhar Patil, IPS*, paid an official visit to District Doda and chaired a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Doda. The meeting was attended by all supervisory officers and SHOs of the district.

Upon his arrival at the DPO, the DIG-P also held a public meeting which witnessed participation from several respectable citizens of Doda town and adjoining areas. The participants projected various grievances, which were patiently heard by the DIG-P. He issued necessary on-spot directions for the redressal of public issues.

During the crime review meeting, SSP Doda, Shri Sandeep Mehta, JKPS, briefed the DIG-P on the overall crime /security scenario of the district. While reviewing the data, the DIG-P DKR Range emphasized the need for expeditious disposal of cases under investigation, including backlog cases, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders, tracing of missing persons, disposal of complaints and online grievances, and overall reduction of crime pendency.

He urged officers to adopt a mission-mode approach for eradicating the menace of drugs. He stressed identifying both backward and forward links of individuals involved in drug trafficking to dismantle the entire network and ensure a drug-free society. Regarding theft and burglary cases, the DIG-P DKR Range directed officers to make focused efforts, examine all aspects of investigations in time line manner fixed under NCL, work out pending cases, and ensure recovery of stolen property. Attachment of property acquired through illegal proceeds in UAPA and NDPS cases. He further instructed supervisory officers and SHOs to launch a special drive to curb traffic violations, particularly ensuring installation mandatory safety equipment in vehicles as per relevant guidelines.

All supervisory officers and SHOs were directed to adopt a proactive approach to prevent any law-and-order situations. Special surveillance was ordered on the activities of troublemakers, miscreants, and other anti-social elements. The DIG also instructed for regular review and categorization of history-sheeters, OGWs, and other suspects, along with identification of new troublemakers based on analysis of their records.
The DIG-P further reviewed the overall security scenario of the district in a joint meeting attended by officers from the Army, CAPF, and other sister agencies. He assessed the operational preparedness of all forces and reiterated that coordinated efforts must continue to completely eliminate terror infrastructure from the district.

The DIGP also paid a visit to Police Public School DPL Doda, review working of the school, besides interacted with the staff and issued necessary directions.

Tightening its noose against the menace of drugs, Doda police on Saturday detained 03 drug peddlers at a Naka when they were found in the possession of He**in like substance. On the directions of the Senior Superintendent of Police , Doda, a naka was established at Khellani, which was led by the I/C PP Khellani and SHO Doda.

During naka checking, at morning hours, the naka party intercepted a white Swift Dzire car (JK06C-3363) coming from Batote towards Doda. On noticing the police team, the driver attempted to flee; however, due to the swift and prompt action of the naka party, the vehicle was successfully stopped.

Three persons traveling in the vehicle were identified as:
• Junaid Qayoom, S/o Late Abdul Qayoom, R/o New Bus Stand Doda
• Narinder Singh, S/o Kushal Singh, R/o Mandole, Kastigarh Doda
• Arun Singh, S/o Joginder Singh, R/o Sajah Doda

During their personal search, the naka team recovered:
• 7 grams of heroin-like substance from Junaid Qayoom
• 7 grams of heroin-like substance from Narinder Singh
• 06 grams of heroin-like substance from Arun Singh

A total of 20 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered, and the vehicle used in the commission of the offence has been seized.

In this connection, Case FIR No. 263/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Doda, and investigation has been set into motion.

Doda, November 20, 2025:

Doda Police have seized a total of 37 bottles of illicit liquor in two separate actions carried out in Doda district, leading to the arrest of two individuals and registration of two FIRs.

*1. 13 Bottles Seized from Chicken Shop in Nagri Tondwah; Shopkeeper Arrested*

A police patrolling team of Police Station Doda, while conducting routine checks in the Nagri Tondwah area, detected illegal liquor activity inside a local chicken shop.

The patrol noticed unidentified individuals consuming liquor inside the shop of Bittu Ram S/O Pyare Lal R/O Bhagwa, District Doda. On seeing the police party, the individuals fled from the spot.

During a search of the premises, the police recovered 13 bottles of JK Special Whisky (750 ml each) Three plastic glasses placed on a table

The shop owner failed to provide any valid explanation or permit for the possession or consumption of liquor inside the premises. Preliminary inquiry revealed that he had illegally procured the liquor and was allowing consumption inside his shop, thereby encouraging alcohol abuse among the youth of the area.

Accordingly, FIR No. 261/2025 U/S 48(f) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Doda, and further investigation is underway.

*2. 24 Bottles Seized at Pul Doda; One Arrested*

During routine naka checking conducted by Police Post Pul Doda at Pul Doda, an Alto vehicle bearing registration No. JK06-5592, driven by Shakir Hussain S/O Habibullah R/O Babore Ghat, Tehsil & District Doda, was intercepted while travelling from Pul Doda towards Doda. Upon searching the vehicle, 24 bottles of 750 ml JK Whiskey were recovered from the dickey.

Accordingly, FIR No. 262/2025 U/S 48(a) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Doda. The accused was arrested, and the vehicle was seized.

Doda Police appeals to the general public to report any such illegal activities and cooperate with police efforts to maintain a safe and responsible environment in the district.

On the directions of *SSP Doda* and in view of the prevailing security scenario, Doda Police today conducted a thorough search at Government Medical College (GMC) Doda and Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah.

The operation was carried out under the close supervision of Addl. SP Doda and SDPO Bhaderwah. During the exercise, personal lockers of doctors and other designated staff areas were inspected meticulously. Medical staff was categorically instructed not to store or keep any unlawful or prohibited material in their lockers or anywhere within the hospital premises. However nothing incriminating or suspicious was found during the search.

The search was part of the ongoing proactive efforts of Doda Police to strengthen security, maintain law and order, and ensure strict compliance with safety and legal protocols in vital institutions across the district.

Doda, November 20, 2025:

*SSP Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta (JKPS*) today chaired Thana Diwas at Police Station Doda, accompanied by ASP Hqrs Doda and DySP Hqrs Doda. The programme is a part of the district-wide public outreach and grievance-redressal initiative aimed at strengthening police–public cooperation and ensuring community-centric policing.

During the interaction, members of the public raised several issues including traffic congestion and overloading on link roads, the unregulated increase in e-rickshaws within the town, checking of vehicles at naka points, and tenant verification by police stations.

The *SSP Doda* listened to all grievances patiently and assured that necessary steps would be taken in coordination with the concerned stakeholders and departments. He informed that special nakas are being established at different locations to curb traffic rule violations on link roads. Regarding the mushrooming of e-rickshaws in Doda, he said that licenses of all e-rickshaw drivers are being checked, and strict legal action will be taken against any underage or unlicensed driver.

The *SSP* emphasized that Thana Diwas serves as a vital platform for direct communication with citizens, enabling timely redressal of public grievances and enhancing transparency and accountability in policing.

*Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Sh Sandeep Mehta, JKPS* today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to evaluate the progress of under-investigation UAPA cases and the status of ongoing court proceedings across the district.

All Gazetted Officers (GOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) participated in the meeting. Officers stationed at District Headquarters attended the review physically, while those posted in outlying police stations joined virtually, ensuring seamless participation from every unit of the district.

During the meeting, the SSP carried out a detailed case-wise review of all ongoing UAPA investigations, emphasizing timely completion of mandatory legal procedures, meticulous evidence collection, and effective coordination with Special Public Prosecutors. Officers were directed to uphold the highest standards of investigation, strictly adhere to legal protocols, and ensure compliance with all court-related deadlines.

Given the sensitivity and seriousness of UAPA cases, the SSP stressed the importance of accuracy in documentation, observance of due process, and lawful handling of all digital and material evidence. Special focus was laid on witness preparedness, timely filing of charge sheets, and the elimination of procedural delays that may adversely affect prosecution.

The meeting also served as a platform for sharing best practices, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and updating field officers on recent legal developments and judicial expectations pertaining to UAPA cases.

Reiterating Doda Police’s commitment to fair, transparent, and efficient investigation, the SSP underlined the district police’s resolve to ensure accountability, professionalism, and operational uniformity in all matters related to national security.
