*DODA POLICE TRACED MISSING GIRL, REUNITED HER WITH FAMILY*

Doda, October 13, 2026:

In its continued efforts to trace missing persons and ensure their safe reunion with their families, Doda Police successfully traced a missing girl from the jurisdiction of Police Post Mohalla, Police Station Doda, and reunited her with her family.

The missing girl, identified as Veerta Devi, D/o Om Parkash, R/o Shiva Jatheli, Tehsil Mohalla, District Doda, had been reported missing at Police Post Mohalla, where a missing report was entered vide DDR No. 08 dated 29.09.2026.

Acting on the missing report, a police team of Police Post Mohalla, under the leadership of SHO Police Station Doda, made efforts to trace the missing girl and successfully traced her.

After completing all necessary legal formalities, the girl was safely handed over to her legal guardians, and the missing report was formally closed vide DDR No. 09 dated 13.10.2026.

As part of its sustained efforts to promote traditional sports, preserve cultural heritage, strengthen police-public relations and encourage positive youth engagement, District Police Doda organised a Grand Traditional Wrestling Mega Dangal at Gandoh Bhalessa under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026–27.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from renowned wrestlers of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and other regions, attracting thousands of spectators and wrestling enthusiasts. The thrilling bouts showcased exceptional strength, skill, discipline and sportsmanship.

The major highlight of the event was the Main Mali (Final Kushti), contested between Farman of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, and Nisar Bhalessi of Bhalessa, Doda. After an exciting contest, Farman emerged victorious, while Nisar Bhalessi secured the runner-up position. Both wrestlers, along with other participants, were honoured with cash prizes and appreciation in recognition of their outstanding performances.

The Mega Dangal also served as a vibrant platform for promoting unity, communal harmony and brotherhood, bringing together people from different communities to celebrate the rich cultural and sporting heritage of Bhalessa.

On the occasion, SSP Doda, Sh. Kartik Shrotriya, IPS, emphasised the importance of sports in developing discipline, physical fitness, teamwork and positive youth engagement. He encouraged youngsters to actively participate in sporting activities and stay away from drugs and other social evils.

Doda Police also sensitised the gathering under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraged youth to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Awareness regarding ERSS Dial 112 for emergency assistance was also imparted.

*DODA POLICE CRACKS DOWN ON ILLEGAL MINING IN GANDOH; TIPPER AND JCB SEIZED, FINE OF ₹60,336 ASSESSED*

Doda, October 08, 2026:

Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minerals, Doda Police seized one tipper and one JCB machine in the Kahara area, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandoh, District Doda.

During the drive, a police team of Police Post Kahara, led by I/C PP Kahara, intercepted and detained two vehicles/machines found involved in illegal mining-related activities and unauthorized transportation of mineral material.

The details of the seized vehicles/machines are as follows:
1. Tipper bearing Registration No. JK06A-3405, associated with Irshad Hussain S/o Mohd Rustam Sheikh, found involved in illegal transportation of approximately 06 MT of nallah boulders. A fine of ₹15,036 has been assessed by the Mining Department.

2. JCB bearing Registration No. JK06B-1626, associated with Amjad Hussain S/o Tahir Hussain, found involved in illegal mining-related activities involving approximately 50 MT of nallah boulders. A fine of ₹45,300 has been assessed by the Mining Department.

Both vehicles/machines have been seized and retained at Police Post Kahara,

The total fine assessed in respect of both violations amounts to ₹60,336.

Doda Police reiterates its firm commitment to curbing illegal mining, preventing unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals, and safeguarding the environment.

The general public is urged to cooperate with the police and report any illegal mining activities to the nearest Police Station or Police Post.

*DODA POLICE INTENSIFIES ACTION AGAINST TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS AND SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACES; 40 MV CHALLANS, 01 VEHICLE SEIZED & 21 COTPA CHALLANS ISSUED*

Doda, October 03, 2026:

As part of its continued drive to ensure road safety, traffic discipline and compliance with public health regulations, District Police Doda conducted enforcement drives across various Police Stations of the district.

During the drive, police teams took action against 40 violations under the Motor Vehicles Act, besides seizing 01 vehicle for violation of relevant provisions. The action was carried out across Doda, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Thathri and Assar areas.

Simultaneously, continuing its drive against smoking in public places and violations of the Ci******es and Other To***co Products Act (COTPA), Police challaned 21 persons across the district and realised a total fine of ₹1,850/-.

The Police Station-wise action under COTPA included 09 challans at Doda, 02 at Gandoh, 05 at Thathri and 05 at Assar.

During the enforcement activities, commuters and members of the general public were also sensitised regarding traffic rules, road safety measures and compliance with COTPA provisions.

Doda Police appeals to the general public to strictly abide by traffic rules, avoid smoking in prohibited/public places and cooperate with Police in maintaining road safety and public order.

Doda, October 02, 2026:

Continuing its sustained efforts to trace missing persons, Doda Police successfully traced a woman who had been reported missing since June 26, 2026.

The missing woman, namely Pooja Devi D/o B**r Singh R/o Bagger Ramgarh, was reported missing from the house of her husband, Mulakh Raj S/o Jagdish Raj R/o Chill Kashti Garh, Tehsil Assar, District Doda, since 26-06-2026.

Acting on the missing report, a police team of Police Station Assar, led by SHO PS Assar, launched sustained efforts to trace the missing woman. Through continuous efforts and diligent follow-up, the team successfully traced her today, October 02, 2026.

After completing all necessary legal formalities, the traced woman was safely reunited with her family.

Cyber Police Station Doda conducted Cyber awareness Programme at EX-SERVICEMEN PUBLIC HR. SEC. SCHOOL THATRI with a view to give awareness to the students, teachers and other staff about Cybercrime. The event witnessed large numbers of students and school staff.
On this occasion lectures were delivered by PSI Akshay Sharma GEC-245716 of Cyber Police Station Doda to the participants and they were made aware about the use of cybercrime portals, CEIR Portal (related to stolen/missing mobile phones), floating trends of fraudsters to trap common man in their tricks to loot their hard earned money by way of using various type of online cheating like credit card fraud, OTP, QR scan frauds, online gaming frauds, digital arrest, assuring loan frauds.
Also special lecture about Cyber Crime against minor Girls/Women were delivered and participants were also cautioned to keep their social media accounts secure and safe and also remain aware while chatting with unknown person on facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter etc.
Mentionable here that cyber awareness programmes are being conducted by J&K Police to spread the awareness of Cyber related crimes, online frauds, cheating among the general public so that common people may not get trapped in the net of fraudsters / cheaters.

*DODA POLICE ORGANISED TRADITIONAL WRESTLING MEGA DANGAL UNDER CAP 2026-27; 59 BOUTS HELD*

Doda, September 27, 2026:

As part of its ongoing initiatives to promote sports, local culture and constructive youth engagement, District Police Doda organised a Mega Dangal at Higher Secondary School Ground, Malnai Berrau, Doda, under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026-27.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from wrestlers from different parts of the country and an overwhelming response from the public. A total of 59 wrestling bouts were held, showcasing strength, skill, discipline and sportsmanship while celebrating the rich tradition of wrestling.

The highlight of the event was the Main Mali, contested between Nissar Bhalessi and Saifu Malook. In a thrilling final bout, Nissar Bhalessi emerged victorious and was awarded a cash prize of ₹30,000, while Saifu Malook, the runner-up, received ₹15,000.

The Chhoti Mali was contested between Lallan Rishu of Punjab and Shamu of RS Pura. After an exciting contest, Lallan Rishu emerged victorious. A total prize amount of ₹25,000 was earmarked for the Chhoti Mali, with the winner receiving ₹15,000 and the runner-up ₹10,000.

Cash prizes were also distributed among the winners and participating wrestlers, encouraging them to continue pursuing traditional wrestling and sports with dedication and enthusiasm.

A large gathering of local residents, sports enthusiasts and youth witnessed the Mega Dangal and appreciated the initiative of District Police Doda in providing a platform to talented wrestlers and promoting traditional sports at the grassroots level.

During the event, Doda Police also spread awareness about the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, urging youth to stay away from drugs and substance abuse and to channelise their energy towards sports, physical fitness and other constructive activities. The public, particularly the youth, were encouraged to join hands with the Police in building a drug-free society and to share information regarding drug trafficking and other illegal activities with the Police.

The gathering was also sensitised about the *Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) – Dial 112. Citizens were encouraged to Dial 112 in case of any emergency* or whenever immediate police assistance is required, so that timely assistance can be provided.

The event formed part of the broader outreach initiatives of District Police Doda under the Civic Action Programme, aimed at strengthening police-public relations, promoting a drug-free and healthy society, channelising the energy of youth towards sports and constructive activities, promoting physical fitness, and preserving the rich cultural and sporting heritage of the region.

**DODA POLICE ATTACHES IMMOVABLE PROPERTY WORTH APPROX. ₹20 LAKH UNDER NDPS ACT IN FIR NO. 93/2026 OF PS DODA**

Doda, September 26, 2026:

In a significant step in the battle against drug trafficking, Doda Police has successfully attached and frozen an immovable property valued at approximately ₹20 lakh, belonging to accused Zaher Abbas S/o Mohd. Iqbal Lohar, a resident of Sadeeqaabad, Tehsil and District Doda. This action relates to FIR No. 93/2026 registered at Police Station Doda.

The property, identified by Khasra No. 2110/1743/941, has been seized under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. An attachment notice has been prominently displayed at the site to inform the public that any sale, purchase, lease, transfer, or creation of third-party interest in the property is prohibited.

This enforcement action underscores Doda Police's ongoing commitment to targeting the financial assets tied to illicit drug trafficking and to dismantling the networks that sustain this illegal trade. The police have pledged to intensify their efforts in combating the drug menace within the community.

Doda, September 26, 2026:

Continuing its sustained efforts to trace missing persons, Doda Police successfully traced a person reported missing from Bhalla area and reunited him with his family.

On 18-09-2026, one person namely Akshay Kumar S/o Gandrab Singh R/o Barassu, Bhalla, District Doda, went missing from his home. In this connection, a missing report was entered at Police Post Bhalla, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhaderwah, vide DDR No. 16 dated 21-09-2026.

Acting on the missing report, a police team of PP Bhalla, led by I/C PP Bhalla, launched sustained efforts to trace the missing person. With the aid of technical assistance and human intelligence, the police team successfully traced him on 26-09-2026.

After completing all necessary legal formalities, the missing person was safely reunited with his family, and the missing report was accordingly closed vide DDR No. 15 dated 26-09-2026.
