*SSP DODA REVIEWS CRIME AND SECURITY SCENARIO OF SUB-DIVISION BHADERWAH*

*Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta (JKPS)*, today conducted a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at Police Station Bhaderwah, which was attended by Addl. SP Bhaderwah, SDPO Bhaderwah, Station House Officers (SHOs) of Police Stations Bhaderwah and Thathri, and In-Charges of Police Posts falling under their jurisdictions.

The meeting focused on reviewing heinous cases including murder, attempt to murder, NDPS, UAPA, and rape/POCSO offences, besides assessing progress on time-bound investigations governed by the 60–90-day legal schedules.

Case-by-case discussions were held on all ongoing investigations and backlog matters from the current year. SSP Mehta emphasized the importance of quality investigation, timely filing of chargesheets, and ensuring justice to victims. All pending timeline cases were thoroughly examined, and directions were issued to expedite investigations and maximize disposals within the stipulated periods. He also stressed investigative efficiency, accountability, mandatory use of FSL services, and strict adherence to legal deadlines, along with the uploading of success stories under the New Criminal Laws on the designated portal.

SSP Mehta further directed supervisory officers and investigating officers (IOs) to maintain close surveillance over suspects, drug addicts, OGWs (Over-Ground Workers), troublemakers, miscreants, and rumor-mongers, and to take preventive measures to uphold law and order. He called for an intensified crackdown on drug peddlers, identification of their supply networks, and decisive action against major suppliers.

Operational officers were instructed to keep a strict vigil on the activities of Anti-National Elements (ANEs) operating in the higher reaches of Bhaderwah and adjoining areas. *SSP Mehta* directed that inputs be properly analyzed and acted upon promptly, with a focus on dismantling support networks of ANEs and generating actionable intelligence.

Concluding the meeting, *SSP Mehta* urged all officers to redouble efforts to reduce case pendency and meet the targets set by senior functionaries, reaffirming that the ultimate objective of Doda Police is to provide a safe, secure, and crime-free environment for the people of the Sub-Division as well as the District.

On the directions of *SSP Doda Sandeep Kumar Mehta-JKPS,* CYBER POLICE STATION, DODA observed Awareness against Cyber Crime at District Police Line, Doda with a view to give awareness to the Police personnel/officials about Cyber crime. The event witnessed large numbers of officials/personnel.
On this occasion lectures were delivered by *INSP. SURINDER VIR & PSI ANKUSH NAGRA* of CYBER POLICE STATION DODA to the participants and they were made aware about the use of cyber crime portals, floating trends of fraudsters to trap common man in their tricks to loot their hard earned money by way of using various type of online cheating like Bank Apk files regarding KYC of Banks/ Govt schemes, Digital Arrest, credit card fraud, OTP , QR scan frauds, online gaming frauds, assuring loan frauds etc.
Participants were also cautioned to keep their social media accounts secure and safe and also remain aware while chatting with unknown person on facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter etc. Also aware about CEIR Portal in case of Missing/Lost/Stolen mobile phones.
Mentionable here that month of October which is globally observed as the NATIONAL CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS MONTH (NCSAM), cyber awareness programmes are being organized by J&K Police to spread the awareness of Cyber related crimes, online frauds, cheating among the general public so that common people may not get trapped in the net of fraudsters / cheaters.

*TERROR ACCUSED INVOLVED IN KILLING OF A SARPANCH CONVICTED AND SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT IN DODA*

Doda, October 08, 2025:

Doda Police secured the conviction of a terror accused namely Irfan Ali, son of Shafqat Ali, resident of Kilhotran, Tehsil Gandoh, for offences punishable under Sections 302/34 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and Section 7/27 of the Arms Act for the imprisonment of life.

The case originated from an FIR No. 57/2002, registered at Police Station Gandoh on 04-07-2002, following the cold-blooded murder of an innocent civilian who happened to be the Sarpanch of his area Sh. Sher Mohd r/o Changa Gandoh, by the accused and his associates affiliated with a militant outfit. After committing the gruesome murder, the accused fled the scene.

A comprehensive investigation, led by the then Station House Officer of Police Station Gandoh, culminated in the filing of a challan before the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Bhaderwah, on 28-05-2019. The accused had remained in judicial custody since 2019.

After an extensive trial spanning over six years, the Hon’ble Sessions Court, Bhaderwah, vide its order dated 08-10-2025, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment for his barbaric act. The prosecution of the case was effectively conducted by Sh. K.K. Bandral, Chief Prosecuting Officer (CPO) Bhaderwah.

This conviction stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of Doda Police to ensure justice for victims of terrorism and to uphold peace, justice, and the rule of law in the district.

Doda Police have successfully traced a missing person and reunited him with his family, whose missing report had been lodged at Police Post Khellani Doda under the jurisdiction of Police Station Doda.

On 02.10.2025, a missing report regarding Manzoor Ahmed S/o Nika Bakerwal R/o Kumail Baggar was entered at Police Post Khellani of PS Doda.

Soon after registration of the missing report, search of the said missing person was started, on the directions of *SSP Doda* a special team was constituted from PS Doda led by IC PP Khellani, under the supervision of SHO PS Doda and DySP Headquarters Doda. The team utilized all possible means, including technical assistance, and after developing certain leads, successfully traced the missing person on 05.10.2025. After completion of all necessary legal formalities, the missing person was handed over to his family. Accordingly, the missing report has been closed at PP Khellani of PS Doda.

SSP Doda holds Pipping Ceremony of newly promoted Sub-Inspectors

Doda, October 04, 2025:

A formal piping ceremony was held today at Police Station Doda by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Shri Sandeep Mehta (JKPS) to felicitate the promotion of several Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) to the rank of Sub-Inspectors (SI).

The event was attended by the families and relatives of the promoted officers besides senior police officers including Addl. SP Hqrs Doda, Shri Mohd Aslam; SP Ops Doda, Shri Davinder Singh; DySP Hqrs Doda, Shri Ajay Anand; DySP DAR Doda, Shri Adil Rishu; SHO PS Doda, Inspector Pervaiz Ahmed Khanday.

The officers who were elevated to their new ranks are ASIs (now SIs) Rehamtullah, Mushtaq Ahmed, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din, Tilak Raj, Vandana Rani, Shoket Ali, Hari Krishan and Abdul Qayoom.

The ceremony was conducted with traditional pomp and dignity, during which the officers were formally pinned with their new ranks.

Addressing the gathering, SSP Doda Shri Sandeep Mehta congratulated the promoted officers on achieving this significant milestone in their careers. He emphasized that the promotion to SI is not only a recognition of their dedication and hard work but also a call for greater responsibility. He urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and commitment in the discharge of their duties.

On 14.08.2025, a missing report regarding Santosh Kumar S/o Jameet Ram R/o Muthi, Tehsil Marmat was entered at Police Post Goha Marmat of PS Doda.

Soon after registration of the missing report, search of the said missing person was started, on the directions of *SSP Doda*, a special team was constituted from PS Doda led by IC PP Goha Marmat, under the supervision of SHO PS Doda and DySP Headquarters Doda. The team utilized all possible means, including technical assistance, and after developing certain leads, successfully traced the missing person on 02.10.2025 from Bhargran.

After completion of all necessary legal formalities, the missing person was handed over to his family. Accordingly, the missing report has been closed at PP Goha Marmat of PS Doda.

*Doda Police Observe Swachhta Abhiyan 5.0 under Sewa Parv at DPL Doda*

As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, a Swachhta Abhiyan was observed today at District Police Lines (DPL) Doda under the supervision of *SSP Doda, Shri Sandeep Mehta, JKPS.*

On the occasion, a cleanliness drive was carried out in the premises of DPL in which a large number of police personnel enthusiastically participated. The drive was aimed at promoting the message of cleanliness, discipline and public service.

ASP Doda, DySP DAR Doda and DySP Headquarters Doda were also present and joined the police personnel in the cleanliness initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Doda appreciated the participation of officers and officials in the programme and highlighted that such initiatives strengthen the bond between police and community while contributing to the larger goal of Swachh Bharat. He further highlighted the importance of Cleanliness in our daily lives, where, it provides clean atmosphere all around as well as it equally describes the attributes of the person where he is living.

September, 30-2025.

A missing report of a lady namely Sarusha Devi W/O Dilar Singh R/O Kandwah Dhar (B), Tehsil & District Doda was entered at PS Doda on 25-09-2025 and now she has been traced and re-united with her family.

Official sources while giving details has said that Sarusha Devi W/O Dilar Singh R/O Kandwah Dhar (B), Tehsil & District Doda had gone missing and her missing report was entered at Police Station Doda on 25-09-2025.

Soon after registration of the missing report, search of the said lady was started. On the directions of SSP Doda Sh. Sandeep Mehta JKPS, a team was constituted from PP Bagla Bharath under the supervision of SHO PS Doda & Dy.SP Hqrs Doda in search of missing lady. The Police team by using all possible means as well as technical help, succeeded in tracing her out today on 30-09-2025 from Doda City area. Accordingly, after completing all codal formalities, the lady has been handed over to her family and missing report has been closed.

Acting promptly on the report, Police swung into action. On the directions of SSP Doda, a special team was constituted from PS Doda led by SHO PS Doda under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Doda. The team utilized all possible means, including technical assistance, and after developing certain leads, successfully traced the missing person on 29.09.2025 from Bus Stand Doda.

After completion of all necessary legal formalities, the missing person was handed over to his family. Accordingly, the missing report has been closed at PS Doda.
