Since childhood Ankit used to click pictures of every moment and assemble them for creating a story. He is devoted in visualizing concepts and abstracts and has been doing this for a long time. He believes that every person has an unique story to tell and his lenses have been active in capturing the 'untold'. He mainly focuses in depicting emotions of people through his photographs and videography

. He dreams to capture the world through his lens. His dreams are many but one he is always focused on is to capture the untold. He believes in reality, thus, his photographs reflect his thoughts. Ankit draws inspiration from his father who is considered to be one of the noblest photographers from the news media. Presently Ankit is working Independently.

However, there’s also a deeper aspect with analogic photography: the process. Personally, film and analog cameras have pushed me beyond my limits. The limited number of shots per roll and the cost of film make me consider each scene carefully before pressing the shutter. It’s quite the opposite of my impulsive style, reminiscent of Daido Moriyama’s snapshots with digital cameras. Additionally, the flash mounted on 1980s compact film cameras, the small viewfinder that forces precise framing and the audible noise of the shutter and film advance all contribute to my visibility on the streets. Paradoxically, this pushes me to intentionally reveal myself, to lay my cards on the table without hiding anything. Although it’s not my usual approach, but I find it really enjoyable.

This Image Below which is shot with Pentax MX 35mm Format Camera with Ilford HP5 Plus 400 Black and White Film is one of my favorite image at the Streets of Calcutta.
