Bringing yet another proud moment for Sikkim, young racing driver Aarogya Dahal from Rhenock Tarpin secured 2nd position at the FIA Malaysian Karting Championship held at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, where participants from eight countries competed.

Aarogya has been a consistent performer in both national and international motorsport events, steadily carving a name for himself as one of India’s promising racing talents. His recent podium finish in Malaysia adds to a growing list of achievements that highlight his determination, skill, and passion for the sport.

Among his notable past achievements, Aarogya was recognised as a rising star at the Kerala Talent Hunt, made his debut in the 12-hour endurance race covering 700 km and 600 laps at the Sodi World Series (SWS) Dubai Endurance Championship, and secured third place in the Senior 4S category at a race hosted by the Motorsport Association of Malaysia (MAM) at the Sepang circuit. He has also participated in Rotax testing in Sepang, Malaysia, further honing his competitive edge.

With a track record of consecutive podium finishes, Aarogya is now preparing to compete in the full season of the SWS Dubai Championship and the Malaysia Karting Championship (MKC) later this year, representing both Sikkim and India on international platforms.

Some great news coming for Sikkim and India. Abistha Basnett of Namcheybong, Pakyong was awarded the most valuable player in the recently concluded SAAF Under 17 Women's tournament in Bhutan.

हरितालिका तिज नेपाली हिन्दू नारीहरूद्वारा विशेष श्रद्धा र भक्ति साथ मनाइने पवित्र पर्व हो। यो पर्व मुख्यतः भाद्र शुक्ल तृतीयाका दिन मनाइन्छ। जसमा विवाहित र अविवाहित महिलाहरूले भगवान शिव र पार्वतीको पूजा आराधना गर्छन्।

यो ब्रतको मूल उद्देश्य पति–पत्नीबीचको प्रेम, स्नेह र दीर्घायु जीवनको कामना गर्नु हो। अविवाहित महिलाहरूले राम्रा र सुशील जीवनसाथी पाउने आकांक्षाका साथ यो ब्रत बस्दछन्। पौराणिक मान्यताअनुसार देवी पार्वतीले यही दिन कठोर तपस्या गरी भगवान शिवलाई प्राप्त गरेकी थिइन्।

ब्रतमा महिलाहरू निराहार (बिना अन्न र जल) व्रत बस्छन्। रातभरी जाग्राम बसी, हरितालिका कथाको वाचन, शिव-पार्वतीको पूजा तथा नाचगान गर्ने चलन छ। यस ब्रतले आत्म-शुद्धि, मानसिक शान्ति र पारिवारिक समृद्धिमा सहयोग पुर्‍याउने विश्वास पनि गरिन्छ।

Anita Chhetri from Dentam, Sikkim, has won a Silver Medal in the Women’s Sports Physique category at the 57th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025, held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Representing India, Anita’s remarkable achievement highlights her dedication, discipline, and hard work, bringing pride to both Sikkim and the nation on the international stage.

Sikkim Student Tushar Nepal Sharma Secures State Rank 3rd in NEET

Tushar Nepal, son of Udai Narayan Nepal and Naina Sharma, a resident of Bermiok, West Sikkim, has achieved a notable accomplishment by qualifying the NEET examination with a State Rank of 3rd.
He completed his schooling from TNA, consistently demonstrating academic excellence with a score of 96% in his ICSE 10th board examination and 93.3% in his 12th board examination. We extend our best wishes to him for his future endeavors.

Dear Khas family,

Sikkim Student Anmol Dulal Secures State Rank 20 in NEET

Pakyong, Sikkim – Anmol Dulal, son of Balaram Dulal and Dambara Dulal, a resident of Takchang, Amba under Pakyong District, has achieved a remarkable feat by qualifying the NEET examination with a State Rank of 20.

Anmol has consistently displayed academic excellence. He was the district topper in Class XII (Science stream) from Government Senior Secondary School, Mamring. Earlier, he had also secured an impressive 96% in Class X, setting a strong academic foundation for his future pursuits.

His achievement has brought pride not only to his family but also to the entire Pakyong district.

Members of Team Khas representing our community during the final submission of documents on the Tribal status for 12 left out communities at New Delhi recently.

We are thankful to the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang who has led the mission from the front. We also take this opportunity to thank Shri. Ota, our expert guidance for his learned counsel while preparing the report. Hon'ble elected representatives of the Khas community deserve appreciation for their push and dedicated efforts towards the report. Learned scholars and experts from our community have been of great support while finalizing the report.

The Social Welfare Department, led by Secretary madam, Smt. Sarika Pradhan also deserves acknowledgement for the continued support in making the report a possibility.

We are positive that this report would go a long way in providing the Khas community of Sikkim and the other left out communities of Sikkim the justice which has eluded us as Sikkimese for decades.

We thank all our Khas family for your support and encouragement as always.
