"Barren Lands Get a New Lease of Life with Pakyong District's Friday Field/ Farm Day Mission Revival"
Pakyong, March 15: The Additional District Collector (Development) Office of Pakyong District commemorated the Friday Field/Farm Day today, notwithstanding the preceding day being designated as a government holiday. The event was graced by the presence of Mr Robin Pd Sewa, Additional District Collector (Development), who conducted a visit to the Rhenock Block within the Rhenock Gram Panchayat.
During the proceedings, Mr Madhusudhan Sharma, Assistant Director of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI), presented his initiatives in revitalising his own barren lands as part of the Mission to Revive Barren Land for Cultivation.
Additionally, Mr Krishna Dhakal, Agriculture Development Officer of Rhenock, received commendation for his unwavering commitment and assistance to the Gram Panchayats within the mission.
A notable aspect of the event was the sowing of maize seeds by personnel from the Gram Panchayat Units, Block Administrative Centres, and the Agriculture Department.
The mission has extended its outreach to every household in the villages within Pakyong District, advocating for sustainable agricultural practices while involving young government employees and the farming community.
This initiative aligns with the broader objective of enhancing agricultural practices, augmenting agricultural productivity, and promoting sustainable land utilisation within the district.
The collaborative endeavours of the district administration, governmental employees, and agricultural communities are anticipated to yield a significant transformation in the region's agricultural landscape, thereby ensuring food security and providing economic advantages for the farming community.
