नेपाली साहित्य परिषद्, सिक्किम र रानीपुलको पीएम श्री वृहस्पति प्रसाईं उच्चत्तर माध्यमिक विद्यालय को संयुक्त आयोजनामा साहित्य–कला सङ्गम कार्यक्रम आयोजन गरियो। पर्यावरण दिवसको अवसर पारेर विद्यालयमा आयोजित कार्यक्रममा नेपाली साहित्य परिषद सिक्किमका अध्यक्ष हरि ढुङ्गेल मुख्य अतिथि
विद्यार्थीकी प्राचार्य सन्ध्या शर्मा विशिष्ठ अतिथि रहेका थिए। कार्यक्रम शुरु हुन अघि नेपाली साहित्य परिषदका अध्यक्ष सहित अन्य सदस्य अनि विद्यालय परिवारले विद्यालय परिसरमा विभिन्न प्रजातिका बिरूवा रोपे।
नेपाली साहित्य परिषद सिक्किमको समिति
यसपछि आयोजित साहित्य कला सङ्गम कार्यक्रममा विद्यार्थी तथा शिक्षकहरूबाट कविता वाचन, गीत, वाद्ययन्त्र तथा सामूहिक नृत्य प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो। कार्यक्रममा विद्यालयका विद्यार्थी तथा शिक्षकहरूको सक्रिय सहभागिता रहेको थियो भने पर्यावरण संरक्षणमा विद्यार्थीहरूको भूमिकाबारे विशेष चर्चा गरिएको थियो। कार्यक्रम आयोजना गर्नुको मुख्य उद्देश्यबारे जानकारी दिंदै नेपाली साहित्य परिषद सिक्किमका महासचिव भीम राउतले नेपाली साहित्य परिषद्को कार्यक्रमलाई सिक्किमका ग्रामीण स्तरसम्म पुऱ्याउन साथै विद्यार्थीलाई साहित्यसँग जोड्न कार्यक्रम आयोजना गरिएको बताए। उनले भविष्यमा यस प्रकारको कार्यक्रम सिक्किमको अन्य जिल्लामा पनि आयोजना गरिने जानकारी दिएका छन्।

Former Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Sikkim CP Dhakal today addressed a press conference on ongoing SIR exercise in Sikkim where he raised strong voice of proper scrutiny of illegal voters. He further said that it is a collewctive responsibility of the Government, Election Department, Panchayats and the civil society to check the unbelievable rise in the number of electors in Sikkim.

President Droupadi Murmu today called upon the Sikkim Police to adopt a more citizen-centric approach. During her address at the President’s Police Colour Award presentation ceremony held at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok, she stressed the importance of the police being more empathetic when interacting with the public, especially women, the underprivileged, and children. She indicated that the police should be prepared to confront issues such as cybercrime, online fraud, and deep fakes. Furthermore, she expressed her hope that the Sikkim Police would tackle these challenges by employing all available modern resources. She commended the Sikkim Police for their efforts in maintaining law and order as well as in disaster management.

The Body Builders Association of Sikkim has announced 8th Mr. Sukhim and Junior Mr. Sukhim and Open Men’s Physique and Women’s Model Physique Body Building Championship 2026. President of Body Builders Association of Sikkim cm MLA Kala Rai and General Secretary Pema W.D. Bhutia in a press conference informed that the 8th Mr Sukhim Championship will take place on June 7, 2026 at Marina Hall, SMIT Majhitar, Rangpo. It was further informed that 8th Mr. Sukhim and Junior Mr. Sukhim is strictly for local body builders bearing COI or Residential Certificate while entry is open for all from within and outside Sikkim for the Men’s Physique and Women’s Physique Model categories.

The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, conferred the prestigious President’s Police Colour to the Sikkim Police during an Alankaran Parade at the Paljor Stadium, Gangtok, today. The event was attended by the Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, his wife Krishna Kumari Rai, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the SLA, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Advisors, Chairpersons, OSDs, the Chief Secretary, the DGP of Sikkim Police, and Heads of Departments from various sectors. Additionally, a significant number of members of the general public were present at the occasion.

The President’s Police Colour represents the highest ceremonial distinction granted to a police force in India, acknowledging outstanding service, steadfast discipline, and commitment to the nation.

With this recognition, Sikkim has become the 15th state in India and the 3rd from the North East to receive this honour.

Apurva Kumar Singh, Deputy Director, Media Cell, ECI, today held a session on the critical role of the media in strengthening electoral participation and awareness. He highlighted that effective communication and regional language outreach are essential for the successful implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, particularly in geographically challenging states like Sikkim.
Speaking on the importance of SIR, and the role of the media, Singh said newspapers, television, radio, digital platforms, and local communication networks act as vital bridges between the Election Commission and the public.
