The State Report : Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday inaugurated a bridge over Makru River and laid the foundation stone for 16 national highway projects in Manipur with an investment of Rs 4,148 crores covering a total length of 298 kms.

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the projects will provide all-weather connectivity to Manipur with the rest of the country and the neighbouring countries. These highway projects will boost agricultural, industrial and socio-economic progress of the region, besides facilitating health care and emergency service to the remotest of the areas and generating employment and self-employment opportunities.

While inaugurating the projects in Imphal, Gadkari said projects worth Rs 5000 crores have also been sanctioned for the state and the Detailed Project Reports (DPR) will be completed within six months and the work will start in a year's time.

The State Report : The results of Higher Secondary (HS) final year and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations will be declared by July 31, said Assam education minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu on July 13.

Talking to media persons, Pegu said the state education department has been preparing the results to be declared by July 31.

The results will be declared following the alternative evaluation schemes notified by the state government. The HS and HSLC exams under the state boards were canceled due to the COVID-19 situation in the state.

The State Report : At first, the GMC did mic announcements but as there was no response from the encroachers, hence an eviction drive was conducted in the interest of public service.

A joint eviction drive was conducted by a team of Enforcement Branch, Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), led by Aditya Gogoi, Municipal Secretary & i/c Collector (Enforcement Branch) in coordination with District Administration, Kamrup (M), and the commissioner of Police, Guwahati City against illegal street vendors and hawkers in the footpaths and pavements of Fancy Bazar area mainly: S.S. Road, M.S. Road, T.R.P. Road, Kedar Road, Chamber Road, etc.
