☕ Tea Time Story: The Last Cup
Every evening, an old woman named Amara sat by her little window with a cup of tea.
She lived alone in a small house at the end of a quiet lane. Her tea was always the same—strong, sweet, and filled with the smell of cardamom.
One rainy evening, as she prepared her tea, someone knocked on the door.
Amara opened it and found a young girl standing outside, completely soaked.
“I’m sorry to bother you,” the girl whispered. “I’ve been walking for hours. Could I please have some water?”
Amara smiled.
“Water? On a rainy evening? Come inside. I have something better.”
She made another cup of tea and placed a plate of biscuits beside it.
The girl slowly warmed her hands around the cup.
After a while, she smiled and said, “This is the best tea I’ve ever had.”
Amara laughed softly.
“Perhaps it’s because you needed it today.”
They talked for hours.
The next morning, the girl left with a grateful smile.
Years passed.
Amara grew older, and one evening she became too weak to make her usual cup of tea.
Just as she was about to close her eyes, there was a knock at the door.
A familiar voice said,
“Amara, I think it’s tea time.”
She opened her eyes.
Standing there was the little girl from that rainy evening—now a grown woman—with two cups of hot tea in her hands.
Amara smiled.
“Why did you come back?”
The woman placed the cup beside her and said,
“Because you once gave me more than tea. You gave me a place to feel safe.”
And that evening, they sat together by the window, sharing one of life’s simplest gifts—
a warm cup of tea and someone to share it with.
