Jharkhand’s Vijay Sundi beat Haryana’s Vikas Bhakar 6-4 in the men’s recurve open gold medal match, while Haryana’s Pooja won the women’s recurve open gold after defeating Maharashtra’s Rajshri Rathod 6-4. All eyes were on the women’s compound gold medal match between Sheetal and Payal. Sheetal started with scores of 8 and 7, while Payal began with double 10s. However, Payal lost the upper hand in the third round, shooting a 7 for the first time, while Sheetal returned to her consistent best of 9s.

Jammu & Kashmir’s armless archer and Paralympic medallist Sheetal Devi won the gold medal at the Khelo India Para Games, defeating Odisha’s quadruple amputee archer Payal Nag 109–103 in a thrilling final.

Coming from behind, the 18-year-old Sheetal showed great composure to secure her second gold medal of the Games. Despite losing all four limbs to electrocution as a child, Payal impressed everyone by shooting with prosthetic legs and proudly won the silver medal.

The courage, skill, and determination of both athletes are a true inspiration for India 🇮🇳💯
