Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar ( :1991:BH) is set to be appointed as the state’s new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC), following a selection committee meeting involving the Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition. Former IAS officer Anjani Kumar Singh is also slated to become an Information Commissioner. While formal appointments are pending, Vinay Kumar remains on leave until October 6, with IPS officer Preeta Verma currently serving as acting DGP.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) held a full commission meeting at 3 PM today, resulting in the following updates:

1. The previous version of Form 6 will be utilized during non-SIR periods.
2. A committee, led by the Senior Deputy Election Commissioner and featuring an expert from IIT/IIIT, has been formed to review ECINET.
3. A dedicated enrollment drive will be launched to assist voters whose names were deleted during the SIR process.

Vikas Gupta, a 2001-batch IAS officer and presently serving as Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), has been given the additional charge of Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
