2023 was a great year filled with lessons, victories, and challenges.
We found new partners, new friends and new team members who took our story forward. As we step into #2024, I'm excited to continue the journey, pushing boundaries and embracing new opportunities.
As we move towards excitement and growth, let's also remember to seek inner bliss and peace.

The mark of a great relationship is when you understand things which are left unsaid. You observe & notice what the other person wants & go an extra mile for it.

Couple of years ago when I was thinking of starting my podcast & was looking for this particular product which was back then not available in India, I may have discussed it lightly with my team.

And today, on my birthday, IVORIANS gifted this beautiful thing called AKG Lyra, which is one of the finest Microphones ever created for podcasters.

Made my day & I am touched by the thoughtfulness & the sense of care.

It's not just a gift. It's like giving your soul a lift.

This empathy, this care, is what makes people at IVORY precious & slightly different from elsewhere.

When I was young i remember having a somewhat strenuous relationship with my father.

The root cause was his high expectations from me and his fear that I will get distracted from my goal and may fail.

Rightly so, because back then I was a completely distracted kid.

We were in a very small town where failure to achieve goals was not abnormal. It was all around us.

He pushed me hard & was mostly tough on me.

This perhaps was a normal way of being a dad in 90s & I saw a similar scenario with most of my friends.

I could never understand this style of parenting & used to be upset & angry with him.

But when things got better, I saw a sea change in him.

When I got into a career path which looked fine & safe with a long term view, he almost suddenly changed.

Our communication improved like a dream & we started discussing things across the table, in a way i could never imagine.

I felt he was patient & open in his views & not forceful anymore.

Over a period of 20 years, Dad became my friend.

We travelled together, watched movies, read books & he opened up and talked about things which probably we never did with anyone.

When I used to come back home & see him i used to feel lucky to have him there.

A protector, saviour, guide, friend, father, doctor, what not!

He is not there anymore. This picture is of our DHARMSHALA (Himachal) visit in 2017.

I lost him this year in May to a long battle with cancer.

But it's not only his pictures & memories that are around, it's what he made me. It's what he gave me as a a value to pass on to my kid.

I have a son who is 13 & my parenting style is quite different from my Dad. But i wish for him exactly what my dad wished for me - Success, happiness & peace.

I hope my son finds his true calling & both of us enjoy a pleasant relationship based on mutual trust, love & respect for each other's views, Just like i did with my dad.

We had a father & we will become a father & this chain will go on forever. What should not change is the DNA of this relationship which is passing the baton of timeless values & slight push, a nudge towards a better happier life.
