This major discovery also includes the first-ever female of the genus, allowing researchers to finally resolve its uncertain classification. The shy spiders were found in specific plants and were even observed being attacked by a parasitoid wasp, offering new ecological insights. The find confirms the Pilia genus is endemic to the Western Ghats.
