Some are misusing digital media to blackmail people by posing as journalists. Let it be clear — they are not part of our association.

We stand for ethical journalism and support genuine journalists. But those involved in blackmail will be boycotted and expelled if found guilty.

Success of ’s Protest: Action Taken Against Officer Dastagirsab

The Karnataka Digital Media Working Journalist Association has achieved a significant victory in its ongoing fight for justice and accountability. Following the Association's strong protest, , Beat Forest Guard of Honnikeri Beat, Bidar Territorial Forest Range, has been suspended for his unprofessional conduct towards journalist .

The incident, which occurred on April 15 during preparations for a Chief Minister-led plantation event, was captured in viral videos showing Mr. Dastagirsab’s aggressive and unprofessional behavior towards the journalist. This video became a symbol of the growing need for accountability in public service.

However, it’s important to note that is not the only officer involved in this assault. Other officers, including , , , and at least 3-4 others, were also seen participating in the attack on the journalist. The Karnataka Digital Media Working Journalist Association is committed to ensuring that all those responsible for this incident face appropriate action.

The fight for justice will continue, and the Association will not rest until all the officers involved in this assault are held accountable and suspended. This is just the beginning. The Karnataka Digital Media Working Journalist Association is determined to ensure that press freedom is protected, and all public servants are held to the highest standards of professionalism.

Today, a shocking incident has come to light where a Forest Officer in Bidar was caught on video assaulting a news reporter on the road — grabbing him by the collar and physically attacking him.

This is not just an attack on a journalist, but an attack on the freedom of the press and democracy itself!
If a government officer can treat a reporter like this in public, imagine how he behaves with the common people behind closed doors!

Karnataka Digital Media Working Journalist Association strongly condemns this act of gundagardi and demands:

1. Immediate suspension of the forest officer involved.
2. A fair and transparent inquiry into the incident.
3. Strict action to ensure this never happens again.

We urge the Karnataka Government, Bidar Incharge Minister, and District Administration to act swiftly.
Journalists are not alone. We will fight back.
