Roti with chicken masala 🥰🥰
# # # Chicken Masala Recipe
# # # # Ingredients:
- **500g chicken (boneless or with bone)**
- **2 onions (finely chopped)**
- **2 tomatoes (pureed)**
- **3-4 cloves garlic (minced)**
- **1-inch ginger (minced)**
- **2-3 green chilies (slit)**
- **1/2 cup plain yogurt**
- **2 tbsp cooking oil or ghee**
- **1 tsp cumin seeds**
- **1 tsp turmeric powder**
- **1 tsp red chili powder**
- **2 tsp coriander powder**
- **1 tsp garam masala powder**
- **1 tsp cumin powder**
- **Salt to taste**
- **Fresh coriander leaves for garnish**
# # # # Instructions:
1. **Marinate the Chicken:**
- In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and a little salt. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
2. **Prepare the Masala:**
- Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add the minced ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
3. **Cook the Chicken:**
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook on medium heat until the chicken starts to brown slightly.
- Stir in the tomato puree, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Cook until the oil starts to separate from the masala (around 10 minutes).
4. **Simmer:**
- Add 1/2 cup of water and stir well. Cover the pan and let it simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Stir occasionally to prevent the masala from sticking to the bottom.
5. **Final Touch:**
- Once the chicken is cooked, sprinkle garam masala on top and stir gently.
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
6. **Serve:**
- Serve hot with rice, naan, or roti. Enjoy your flavorful chicken masala!
