Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a state-level exhibition on Rajasthan’s new criminal laws at Jaipur’s JECC, while also laying the foundation for investment projects worth ₹4 lakh crore.

Speaking at the event, Shah said the state’s conviction rate had risen from 42% to 60% within a year of implementing the new statutes – the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which came into force on 1 July 2024.

He described the legal overhaul as “the biggest reform of the 21st century” and said it would make India’s criminal justice system among the most modern in the world.

Shah highlighted features including separate chapters for crimes against women and children, provisions for e-FIR and Zero FIR, mandatory videography of seizures, compulsory forensic investigations for serious offences, and time-bound procedures.

The exhibition showcased demonstrations of how investigations and prosecutions will work under the new laws. Shah urged the state government to extend the exhibition so more people could attend.

On the development front, he presided over the ground-breaking of projects totalling ₹4 lakh crore, stemming from MoUs signed at last year’s Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024.

He also inaugurated schemes including direct benefit transfers for students, milk subsidies for dairy producers, registration for a free electricity scheme, and vehicles for forensic labs.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan were present.

Whom will you blame for this? BJP, Congress or the construction company?

Everyone is getting mutual benefits from this corruption.

₹271 crore is not a joke.

We pay taxes to get better basic facilities but the government has failed to provide them.

All they know is how to make themselves millionaires with this corrupted money.

This is the story of most government engineers in India.

Not just Madhya Pradesh, across every state, engineers and contractors are looting India.

Lokayukta raids expose the lavish empire of retired Madhya Pradesh PWD Chief Engineer Govind Prasad Mehra from gold and luxury cars to a farmhouse with 17 tonnes of honey and 32 cottages.

Assets worth over ₹60 crore found nearly 25 times his known income.

Building empires within just five years of service.

Corruption has eaten deep into the system, hollowing the nation from within.

When will India truly become corruption-free?

Again? In West Bengal? What’s happening to this state?

Why are women still unsafe here? Just a year after the RG Kar Medical College r**e and murder case shook the nation, another horrifying incident has emerged.

A 20-year-old MBBS student from Odisha allegedly gang-r**ed outside IQ City Medical College, Durgapur.

The survivor was attacked by a group of men near her college campus, after being out for a walk with her friend.

Reports say she was dragged into a forested area and brutally assaulted. She’s now in critical condition, and the investigation is underway yet no arrests have been made so far.

Even the National Commission for Women had to step in after massive outrage. The victim’s parents say there was no proper security on campus and accuse the college of negligence.

This comes after recent NCRB data revealed West Bengal ranks among the top states for acid attacks and rising sexual assault cases.

Despite repeated incidents, questions remain unanswered.... Where is women’s safety in West Bengal? When will justice and accountability truly begin?

Everything has a duplicate now. Even people.

Authorities in Delhi and Kashmir have uncovered illegal factories producing counterfeit toothpaste under well-known brand names such as Colgate, Sensodyne and Close-Up.

The operations reportedly involved full-scale manufacturing setups, including machines, packaging equipment and labels that closely imitated the originals.

In a recent raid, Delhi Police dismantled a large counterfeit goods network and seized fake ENO sachets, Gold Flake ci******es and toothpaste being produced in bulk.

A similar bust in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, led to the recovery of imitation Colgate and Sensodyne tubes identical in design but lacking fluoride and proper labeling. Officials warned that these products pose serious health risks.

Experts say this case highlights the growing problem of counterfeit goods across India. From personal care products to electronics, imitation markets have quietly expanded into a parallel “duplicate economy.”

While authorities continue their crackdowns, consumer awareness remains critical. Officials urge the public to purchase goods only from trusted retailers and to verify batch numbers and packaging details.

What’s most concerning, however, is how normalized fakes have become, from products to professions and even personalities. As one observer noted.

Where are your ethics now, IAS Dhiman Chakma?

Is this how you planned to develop the nation through corruption?

Bureaucrats today seem more corrupt than politicians. Every government office feels trapped in a web of bribery, leaving the common public helpless.

Why this betrayal, Mr. Dhiman Chakma? You studied hard and cleared the UPSC after writing about ethics and integrity, was it all just words?
