๐Ÿšจ ASSAM ALERT: Price Gouging Before GST Relief! ๐Ÿšจ

๐Ÿ”ฅ Overnight Price Shock in Guwahati ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿฅš Eggs: โ‚น180 โž โ‚น220 per tray

๐Ÿฅ› Milk: โ‚น70 โž โ‚น80 per litre

๐Ÿง€ Paneer: โ‚น500 โž โ‚น600 per kg

๐Ÿฅ” Potatoes: โ‚น1,400 โž โ‚น2,200 per quintal

๐Ÿ›ข๏ธ Mustard oil, ๐Ÿงฑ cement, ๐Ÿ”ฉ iron rods โ€” all skyrocketing!

๐Ÿ‘‰ While the Centre talks about GST relief (5% & 18% rates on essentials), traders here are jacking up prices before the benefit even reaches us.

๐Ÿ˜ก Whoโ€™s responsible?

Greedy traders?

Silent supply department?

Politicians fattened by trader donations?

๐Ÿ‘€ Citizens say: all of the above.

๐Ÿ’” This is not โ€œmarket fluctuation.โ€
This is daylight robbery.
This is deliberate sabotage.
Families are bleeding while the government distracts us with divisive politics.

โœŠ What we must demand NOW:
1๏ธโƒฃ Immediate crackdown on price-hike cartels.
2๏ธโƒฃ Transparency from Assamโ€™s Supply Dept.
3๏ธโƒฃ Political accountabilityโ€”MLAs & Ministers must answer.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Assamese families deserve the relief they were promised.
Donโ€™t let this fraud pass silently.
Share. Tag your reps. Speak out.

Enough is enough.

Even before the Modi governmentโ€™s much-publicized GST rate cut takes effect on September 22, unscrupulous traders in Assam have shamelessly hiked prices of essential goods overnight, looting ordinary citizens under the nose of a silent administration. Back in 2014, BJP had mocked the Congress over...

๐ŸŒ„ Historic Wildlife Discovery in Arunachal! ๐Ÿพ

For the first time ever, the elusive Pallasโ€™s Cat has been photographed in Arunachal Pradeshโ€™s high-altitude rangelands! ๐Ÿ“ธ

This landmark survey, led by the Forest Department, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with WWF-India, also recorded five other wild cats โ€” snow leopard, common leopard, clouded leopard, leopard cat & marbled cat โ€” above 4,200 metres.

๐Ÿ’ก The survey documented record-breaking elevations for several species, showing just how extraordinary and resilient the Eastern Himalaya is. Local communities, especially the Brokpa herders, played a vital role in making this possible.

๐Ÿ”Ž Experts say this discovery highlights Arunachal Pradeshโ€™s status as a global biodiversity hotspot and the importance of community-led conservation.

Is anyone else fed up with this political theatre? AGPโ€™s latest act is a repeat of 2019โ€”loud protests, fiery speechesโ€ฆ but zero backbone.

When the Centre slips in an order that undermines the Assam Accord, AGP is quick to shout from the rooftops. But ask them to resign or confront BJP inside the NDA? Silence.

Flashback 2019: dramatic resignations, alliance โ€œbroken,โ€ moral high ground claimedโ€”only to slither back into power within months. That betrayal killed their credibility.

Now itโ€™s dรฉjร  vu. Petitions, press conferences, PR stuntsโ€”but still clinging to the very government they pretend to oppose.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If AGP truly believes the Accord is under threat, their ministers should step down. Until then, every protest is just hollow symbolism. Assam deserves honesty, not staged drama.

A heartbreaking incident at the Arya Nagar flyover construction site claimed the life of 3-year-old Sunit Kumar, who slipped into an unguarded drain.

โš ๏ธ Exposed drains and manholes at the site highlight serious safety lapses.

๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ In swift action, police arrested three Bhartia Infra Projects Ltd (BIPL) officials within 40 hours:

Avinash Bhatia โ€“ Director

Kaushik Gogoi โ€“ Safety Engineer

Prasannajit Pathak โ€“ Deputy Project Manager

๐Ÿ”Ž The tragedy has sparked outrage, with calls for:

Accountability from both the contractor (BIPL) and the PWD.

Strict safety enforcement in all public projects.

Suspension of BIPL from future government contracts.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This is not just about one projectโ€”itโ€™s about ensuring that no life is put at risk due to negligence.

๐Ÿšจ 3,000 bighas of tribal land in Dima Hasao have been quietly handed over to a cement company.
๐Ÿ“Œ Land meant to be protected under the Sixth Schedule โ†’ now exposed to corporate mining.

โš–๏ธ The Gauhati High Court has flagged the deal as highly questionable, warning about its scale, legality & ecological impact.

๐ŸŒฑ How it was done:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Forest areas reclassified as โ€œnon-forestโ€ under Assam Forest Rules, 2022.
๐Ÿ‘‰ No proper consultation with villagers.
๐Ÿ‘‰ People only found out when company staff began surveying their farmland in March 2024.

๐Ÿ˜ก Villagers, rights groups & opposition leaders call it a scam:

โ€œThe Council bypassed laws and environmental concerns. This is a complete betrayal.โ€

This isnโ€™t just about landโ€”itโ€™s about tribal rights, forests, and survival in Northeast India.
When corporate deals override constitutional protections, the Sixth Schedule itself is at risk.

โœŠ Stand with Dima Hasaoโ€™s tribal communities.
๐Ÿ“ข Share. Speak up. Resist.

In a shocking disclosure before the Gauhati High Court, it was revealed that the Assam Government sold 3,000 bighas of tribal land in Dima Hasaoโ€™s Umrangso to Mahabali Cement Co. at โ‚น2 lakh per bigha.

โš–๏ธ Justice Sanjay Kumar Medhiโ€™s bench questioned how Sixth Schedule-protected land was transferred, and directed the government to submit all files and an affidavit within two days.

๐ŸŒพ The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has come down hard on the government, accusing CM Himanta Biswa Sarma of betraying indigenous and tribal communities. AJP leaders said:

โ€œFor long, the CM denied such transfers. Now the High Court proceedings have exposed the governmentโ€™s falsehood.โ€

The AJP further warned of eviction drives over 55,000 bighas of landโ€”nearly 50,000 belonging to indigenous and tribal familiesโ€”allegedly being readied for corporate giants like Adani and Ambani.

โœŠ Opposition voices say the court revelation proves their worst fears: Assamโ€™s protected land is being bartered away to corporate houses.

For nearly 21 months, thousands of local contractors who built water supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission have not been paid their dues. ๐Ÿ’ง

๐Ÿ‘‰ Pending bills = โ‚น12,500 crore
๐Ÿ‘‰ Affected contractors = 8,500+ families
๐Ÿ‘‰ Already, two contractors have died by su***de due to unbearable financial stress.

On Monday, the All Assam Public Health Engineering Contractorsโ€™ Association staged a 10-hour protest in Guwahati, demanding immediate release of payments. Protesters alleged that while a select few โ€œclose to powerโ€ received their bills, the majority were left to struggleโ€”many now facing property seizures, mounting debts, and broken households.

โœŠ Their demands are simple:
โœ”๏ธ Clear pending bills immediately
โœ”๏ธ Refund unjust GST cuts
โœ”๏ธ Equal treatment for all contractors
โœ”๏ธ Stop favoritism in bill disbursal

They ask only one thing from the government:
โ€œWe worked for development, now let us live with dignity.โ€

Gaurav Gogoi, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President, boldly responded to Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a massive rally in Lahowal, Dibrugarh on August 31, 2025. Standing firm, he declared, "Do not try to intimidate me because I am a descendant of Lachit." Gogoi vowed to fight against baseless accusations and promised to focus on real issues like closing liquor shops in tea gardens, increasing wages for workers, supporting local entrepreneurs, and improving government schools.

He strongly criticized the current BJP government and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, highlighting divisive politics and neglect of Assamโ€™s indigenous communities. Thousands of Congress workers rallied behind Gogoiโ€™s vision of a welfare-oriented government committed to Assam's progress and unity ahead of the 2026 assembly elections.

The Assam government recently modified its directive on foreigner verification casesโ€”excluding the Hindu Bengali community from the withdrawal, unlike other groups. This decision has sparked strong protests and accusations against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for allegedly conspiring to marginalize Hindu Bengalis.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Tamulpur and Goreswar, demanding justice and equal treatment under the law. The BTAD Bengali Youth Federation warns of a boycott of BJP if this injustice is not addressed before upcoming elections.

Hindu Bengalis form a crucial voter base in Assam, and this issue is intensifying ethnic and political tensions ahead of the 2026 elections. The community vows to continue fighting for their rights and citizenship benefits.
