Contractors’ association constituted in Block Mawer
Handwara, Jun 1 (KNS) : A Contractors’ Association was formally constituted in Block Mawer on Monday, with an aim to promote transparency, coordination, and the overall welfare and development of the block.
In a statement issued to KNS, an election was held during a general body meeting, which elected Nisar Ahmad Tantary as President, Irfan Nazir War as Vice President, and Zahoor Ahmad Dar as Secretary. Mohd Ramzan Mallah, Irshad Ahmad Shah, and Mohd Ramzan Sheikh were appointed as members of the newly formed body.
Several contractors and local residents participated in the meeting and expressed their commitment to working collectively for the region’s development, a statement said.
Speakers on the occasion stressed the importance of unity and coordination among contractors for the smooth and effective ex*****on of developmental works.
The newly formed association also appealed to contractors in other blocks to establish similar bodies. The members maintained that such associations could foster healthy cooperation, reduce unnecessary competition, and strengthen coordination among contractors.
They further stated that collective platforms can play a vital role in ensuring transparency, improving work efficiency, and contributing towards sustainable and balanced development across all areas the statement further reads. (KNS)
