The Story of Dheklapara Tea Garden | 23 Years of Struggle, Hope & Rebirth | Life's Biggest Lesson

For over two decades, Dheklapara Tea Garden in Alipurduar, West Bengal, stood as a symbol of struggle, resilience, and hope.

Established in 1910, the tea garden once supported hundreds of workers and thousands of family members. When it closed in 2002, wages stopped, livelihoods disappeared, and many families faced unimaginable hardship. Yet many people adapted, learned new skills, migrated for work, started small businesses, and never gave up.

After 23 years, Dheklapara Tea Garden finally reopened on 24 April 2025. But by then, only a fraction of the original workers were able to return.

This is more than the story of a tea garden—it is a powerful life lesson.

Never lose hope, but never depend on just one hope.
