Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Kishtwar City Unit Announced for 2025-26

Kishtwar, August 18: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday announced the formation of its new City Unit for Kishtwar for the session 2025-26. The announcement was made during a programme held at Dak Bungalow, Kishtwar.

Prof. Jaideep Rathore has been appointed as the City President, while Anurag Sharma will serve as the City Secretary. Along with them, responsibilities have been entrusted to Abhay Kotwal, Ashish Sharma, Kanika Shan, Sneha Chouhan, Amit Thakur, Parth Badyal, Sakleshwar Bhaam, Payal Parihar, Kartik A***n, Rydham Sharma, Ankit Raj, Suhana Mir, Muskan Kour, Pallavi Devi and Monika Shan, who will lead different fronts including girls’ activities, SFD, SFS, social media, media, sports, cultural activities and the executive council.

The new unit was announced by Radhika A***n, in the presence of Anoop Sharma (Kathua Vibhag Sangathan Mantri), Sandeep Charak (Doda Vibhag Sangathan Mantri), and Vinay A***n (District Convener, Kishtwar).

In pursuance of the directions issued by the *_Worthy Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar,_* and keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions as well as the advisory regarding inclement weather, *_it is hereby ordered that all Government and Private Schools across District Kishtwar shall remain closed on 18-08-2025, in the interest of the safety and security of the students._*

All HOIs and ZEOs are directed to strictly ensure that no student is exposed to any kind of risk during this period. They shall also remain vigilant, take all precautionary measures to safeguard school property, and communicate immediately in case of any emergency situation arising due to adverse weather conditions.

Important Notice to All Heads of Institutions (Govt. & Pvt.)

Subject: Modification in 79th Independence Day 2025 Celebrations.

As per the directions of the Worthy Deputy Commissioner, Doda, and in view of the tragic cloudburst incident at Chishoti, Kishtwar, it is hereby instructed that only the Salute and Parade shall be conducted at all venues on 15th August 2025.

No cultural performances shall be held under any circumstances.

All Heads of Institutions are directed to take strict note of the above instructions and ensure immediate dissemination of the information to all concerned.

Let us observe this day with solemnity and in solidarity with the affected families.

**Doda Administration Sets Up Emergency Shelters for Yatris in Wake of Kishtwar Cloudburst**

DODA, Aug 14 — In view of the recent cloudburst in Kishtwar district, the District Administration Doda has established three emergency shelters for yatris as a precautionary measure to ensure preparedness for any eventuality.

According to the advisory issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, the designated shelters include the Community Hall, Doda, with Officer In-Charge Sh. Yasir Hussain (EO, MC Doda, 9596886096) and Supervising Officer Sh. Ashraf Parvaiz (ACR Doda, 9697418500), the PWD Guest House, Baggar, with Officer In-Charge Sh. Ayaz Ahmed Salaria (AEO, Assar, 8825096332) and Supervising Officer Sh. Ashok Singh Katoch (SDM Assar, 9596905297), and the Girls Higher Secondary School, Thathri, with Officer In-Charge Sh. Pankaj Sharma (CDPO Thathri, 9419190869) and Supervising Officer Sh. Sheetal Sharma (SDM Thathri, 9419337635).

For any emergency, yatris within District Doda may contact the Control Room, DC Office, at 9596776203, or the Police Control Room, Doda, at 7298923100. The administration has urged all concerned departments to remain on high alert and coordinate effectively to facilitate smooth operations and ensure the safety of pilgrims.
