From Dream Home 🏠 to Sustainable Haven 🌿

In 2010, as one of India's 50 lakh IT professionals, I dreamed of owning a dream flat in Kolkata. After extensive searching, I found Regent City in Rajarhat, with its stunning open spaces (over 60%) and familiar faces. I booked my flat in February 2010, taking my first loan. Registration happened in 2015, and life became a balancing act with half my salary towards EMIs.

However, life had other plans. I lost my job in 2018, and my dream home became a burden. I managed to continue paying EMIs from my savings, but the rough road to Regent City made shifting unfeasible until 2020. The pandemic and Cyclone Amphan brought new challenges. My son Inesh's questions about our flat's safety prompted me to visit Regent City in July 2021. We shifted in briefly but had to return to Howrah Home, Tarangini Bhawan 🏡, due to Inesh's offline schooling.

The flat was rented out, and I began searching for a place to live in harmony with nature. That's when I met Mayank Pincha, who was on a similar journey. We embarked on a natural living trip, exploring over 30 places across West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Mayank's quest continued, covering 50,000+ kms and 100+ places before finding the perfect spot where chemical free natural farming, Community living, sustainable livelihood, love, laughter and every kind of nature based activities are common practice.

I visited this place Sumiran in February 2025 and fell in love immediately. On March 13, 2025, I shifted, finally finding my haven.

After years, I sold my Regent City flat this month.

As global issues like pollution, climate change, and pandemics escalate, I believe sustainable living and community-conserved living will become essential. My goal is to prepare myself and like-minded individuals for a nature-based livelihood.
