We’re so excited to be launching "The Boy Who Wanted to Know More" this Saturday in collaboration with Little Theatre Hyderabad () 🌻

Little Theatre Hyderabad has been nurturing young talent for over 30 years, creating space for children and adults to discover the joy of storytelling, drama, and performance. At the launch, they’ll be reading a few selected stories from the book and we can’t wait for you to experience it. ✨

Written by Emani Rani Sarma, The Boy Who Wanted to Know More takes us into the world of Thammudu, a curious little boy growing up in pre-Independence Srikakulam. This is a boy whose questions come from the heart, and stay with him as he makes sense of the world. Through stories full of wonder, warmth, and quiet wisdom, the book brings back a childhood filled with both small adventures and big feelings.

✨ A look inside The Hunger That Moved a Goddess and Other Stories by Endapalli Bharati ✨

Translated by V. B. Sowmya | Illustrations by Kiran Kumari

These stories don’t ask to be explained—they show you a world as it is.

Of Madiga women swapping stories while cooking dal, pounding tamarind seeds, or staying awake through the night to bring in the harvest.

Of language born from labour, and humour surviving amidst hardship.

Of gojju, sangati, crop calendars, and quiet defiance.

💜 The writing is raw and intimate. The illustrations breathe life into the everyday. And the untranslatable phrases? They explain themselves.

📖 This book is a rare and powerful tribute to the women of a small Telugu-speaking village—told with tenderness, fire, and truth.

🌾 Swipe through for a glimpse. And don’t forget — the book launch is on 12 July at Lamakaan, 5:30 PM onwards. Come celebrate with us!
