Chhattisgarh Sets New Benchmark in Women Empowerment

Chhattisgarh has achieved a major milestone in women’s empowerment, surpassing its target for creating Lakhpati Didis.

Against the target of 7.82 lakh Lakhpati Didis for 2023–26, the state has now reached an impressive 13.85 lakh. Following this achievement, Chhattisgarh has been assigned a new target of creating 14.80 lakh Lakhpati Didis between 2026 and 2029.

The milestone highlights the growing economic participation of women and the impact of initiatives aimed at strengthening women-led livelihoods and financial independence.

India Post has introduced waterproof envelopes for Raksha Bandhan to help protect Rakhis from rain and ensure they reach recipients safely.

The special envelope costs just ₹10 and is available at post offices in Barabanki. Women sending Rakhis through Speed Post can also avail a 10% discount on delivery charges.

To support timely deliveries, post offices have also made special arrangements, including Sunday operations for Speed Post Rakhi deliveries.
