A major leak in a 1,500 mm Manjira Phase-II trunk pipeline near Rudraram has disrupted drinking water supply to several parts of Hyderabad.

According to HMWSSB, emergency repair works are underway on the Kalabgur–Patancheru pumping main, a key source of water supply to the city. Areas including Miyapur, Kukatpally, Chandanagar, Lingampally, RC Puram, Ameerpet and others may face temporary interruptions.

HMWSSB Managing Director Ashok Reddy has directed teams to complete repairs at the earliest and arrange water tankers in affected localities. Residents have been advised to use available water judiciously until normal supply is restored.

A surprise inspection by the Telangana Drugs Control Administration has uncovered an unlicensed medical shop in Choppadandi, Karimnagar district.

According to DCA officials, the shop was operating without a valid licence and was allegedly selling medicines illegally.

During the inspection, officials seized medicines worth ₹5.51 lakh that were stored at the premises.

The authorities have initiated action and sealed the medical shop for violations of drug regulations.

The DCA says such inspections will continue to prevent the unauthorised sale of medicines and to protect public health.

Officials have also urged people to verify medical shops before purchasing medicines and ensure they buy only from licensed establishments.

Hyderabad City Police say they have busted the Indian network of “IGNITE”, a newly formed entity allegedly linked to the money circulation model previously associated with QNET and Vihaan Direct Selling.

Under “Operation Ignite Crackdown”, police arrested six individuals across Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

According to investigators, the network was identified and acted against just 18 days after it began operations in India.

Police estimate the intervention may have prevented a potential fraud of nearly ₹5,000 crore.

Officials said three victim complaints have already been received and FIRs registered.

The investigation is continuing, while police say the operation reflects a proactive effort to stop large-scale financial scams before more people are affected.

A fatal road accident has been reported in Hanumakonda district.

According to local information, the crash occurred near Pasaragonda Cross on the Bhopalpatnam–Hyderabad highway.

A tipper lorry rammed into a water tanker that was watering roadside trees.

The impact was severe.

The tipper driver died on the spot, officials said.

A Hyderabad-rooted filmmaker’s documentary on shepherd life in Karnataka has earned international recognition.

Filmmaker Ankit Pogula’s documentary Bhed Chal follows semi-nomadic Kuruba shepherds who travel hundreds of kilometres with their sheep across northern Karnataka.

The film began after years of visits and filming between 2017 and 2021, documenting how shepherd families, livestock, farmers and nature remain connected through a traditional way of life.

According to Pogula, the documentary explores the idea of purpose and the relationship between people, animals and the land.

The film has received an award in Argentina and has been screened in Germany, while also featuring at festivals across Africa and Europe.

The documentary arrives as 2026 is being observed as the United Nations International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralism.

A major theft has been reported at the Sonovision electronics store on Wyra Road in Khammam city.

According to the store management, unidentified burglars broke into the showroom after midnight and allegedly stole high-end mobile phones worth around ₹1 crore.

A serious road accident has been reported on the Nagarjuna Sagar Highway in Ranga Reddy district.

According to local reports, two cars collided head-on near Agapally in Manchal mandal.

One person is said to be in critical condition after the crash.

Several others suffered serious injuries.

Local residents rushed to the spot and helped the victims.

The injured were shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad for treatment.
