The moment when an airplane takes off or lands often feels like a wonder. I’ve heard that air travel is the safest mode of transportation in the world, yet when the plane speeds down the runway to take off, a tightness grips my chest. The mind becomes uneasy. Every small movement that follows reminds me of life and of death. Before the plane ascends, the air hostess explains the emergency exits. Even though this is said to be the safest journey, it’s the escape routes that are explained first. That means, if one doesn’t try to save oneself, and still survives, it must be a miracle. Similarly, when the flight shakes or hits turbulence, without realizing it, we cling to the seat next to us. Once the shaking stops, the mind quietly asks what was the point of holding on so tightly to that seat? When travellers board the flight, filled with dreams and hopes, they are also stepping into a journey that challenges even their own survival. It’s a journey where we can’t even begin to imagine the moment when everything might fall apart. How terrifying those moments must have been, that people have already gone through…

Believe it or not, the Arambai Tenggol, which was once regarded as a resistance group fighting for the good of the people, has lost its purpose. Once seen as protectors and guardians, they have now turned into mere puppets of the BJP government. They no longer care about the welfare of the people they were supposed to stand for. It’s heartbreaking to see them fail so miserably in their role as a people's movement.

Their leader, Korounganba Khuman, a fu***ng Ass* has become a symbol of this betrayal. He has let down the trust and hopes of the very people he was supposed to lead. Instead of standing tall for justice and integrity, he has proven to be nothing more than a self-serving opportunist. It’s not just disappointing—it’s enraging to witness such a fall from grace.

The Arambai Tenggol had the potential to make a difference, to be a force for good, but they chose a path of greed, corruption, and manipulation. Their actions have left the people disillusioned and betrayed. How could they turn their backs on the very values they claimed to uphold? It’s a painful reminder that power without accountability always corrupts.

Security was beefed up in Manipur's Kangpokpi district where the SP was injured in a mob attack for failing to "remove" the central armed forces as per the demands of Kuki groups, officials said on Saturday.

A mob on Friday evening attacked the office of Superintendent of Police M Prabhakar, throwing stones and other "projectiles" to vent their anger over the continued deployment of central forces, particularly the BSF and the CRPF, in the Saibol village.

Vehicles of district police kept within the compound of the SP's office were vandalised. Prabhakar was injured after being hit on the forehead by some projectile, officials said.

On January 3, leaders of the Kuki civil society organization mobilized a large crowd in Kangpokpi, leading to violent clashes between civilians and security forces. The confrontation left several injured, including a woman and multiple men, some of whom are now in critical condition.

The protest was ignited by a provocative call to action, urging women to "storm the SP office" in Kangpokpi. Responding to the rallying cry, tensions escalated as an armed Kuki mob, allegedly supported by militants, launched an attack on the SP office.

The protestors were opposing the presence of central forces occupying Kuki bunkers and dominating areas referred to as "Kuki red zones." These zones are alleged strongholds of armed Kuki militants, who have been accused of targeting Meitei villages in the valley using hilltop positions.

A mob attacked the office of the Superintendent of Police in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Friday evening over the officer’s alleged failure to remove central force from Saibol village bordering Imphal East district, officials said.

Several people were reportedly injured in the attack.

Kuki organisations have been protesting against the alleged baton charge on women by security forces on December 31 in Saibol village.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Thursday said the newly recruited personnel of the 10th and 11th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), who recently concluded training in Assam, would undergo specialised exercise so that they can be deployed for highway protection and handling the law and order situation.

During a visit to Manipur Police Training Centre at Pangei in Imphal East district, the CM said the recruits would undergo specialised training at this centre before being deployed across the state.

"They will undergo specialised training at Pangei where they will be taught how to handle law and order situation. If the personnel are deployed in various police stations now, their morale may be down. So, we decided to keep them at one place and use their services wherever and whenever needed," the CM said.
