PM Modi Meets Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a productive meeting with Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing, who chose India for his first foreign visit as President. PM Modi expressed India's honour at this gesture and welcomed the fact that the President began his visit from Bodh Gaya, receiving the blessings of Lord Buddha.
The leaders reviewed the full spectrum of IndiaโMyanmar relations, with Myanmar continuing to play a vital role in India's Neighbourhood First, Act East, and Indo-Pacific policies.
Their discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in trade, rare earths, healthcare, connectivity, heritage restoration, and capacity building. Both sides also agreed to work closely in key areas such as maritime security, cyber security, and regional stability.
