TDC Exclusive: Juhu Beach House by Ikshhana Design Studio

Ikshhana Design Studio transforms a compact Juhu Beach apartment into a bright, modern retreat that feels both spacious and serene. The design focused on maximizing natural light, softening edges, and using light tones to create an open, fluid space. Curved walls, custom furniture, and clever space planning made the home feel larger while maintaining a strong visual connection to its beachside setting.

Warm wood and brass accents added a cozy, inviting layer to the contemporary design. Built-in niches provided smart storage and depth, while details like a temple in the master bedroom and a hidden water unit in the kitchen reflected the client’s lifestyle. The result is a seamless blend of comfort, style, and functionality—turning a small apartment into a calm, elegant sanctuary.

TDC Exclusive: The Sloped Sanctuary by Studio Elementz

Marked by its distinctive sloping roofline, this residence makes an immediate architectural statement—bold yet refined. The stark white façade, offset by a dark, brooding roof, creates a high-contrast composition that feels both modern and timeless. While undeniably striking, the exterior’s minimalist palette risks veering into predictability, relying heavily on contrast rather than material richness or detailing for impact.

Inside, expansive double-height volumes make a strong impression. Floor-to-ceiling sheer drapes flood the space with daylight, softening the drama and creating a sense of airiness. The living area, anchored by plush seating and a sculptural chandelier, serves as the visual and emotional core of the home. Wooden ceiling beams introduce warmth and tactility—though their potential to ground the soaring space could have been further explored with more layered finishes or detailing.

TDC Global Community: Imagine Montessori School by Gradolí & Sanz Arquitectes

A School Shaped by Nature
Tucked between the quiet homes of Paterna and the wild edges of the En Dolça ravine, this school turns its back on the city and opens its arms to nature. Rather than entering through gates and walls, children begin their day crossing a pine forest on raised wooden paths, catching glimpses of the school through the trees. It’s not just a commute—it’s a gentle transition, welcoming them into a world where nature is both guide and guardian.

Learning Through Landscape
Designed in a flowing “S” shape, the school wraps around two outdoor realms—a plaza and a playground—creating a continuous bond between inside and out. Classrooms are arranged to face the ravine, each opening onto terraces with trees, water, and sunlight. There are no blackboards or teacher’s desks; instead, the ever-changing landscape becomes the primary teacher. Inside, child-scaled spaces—arched entries, lofts, nooks, and hideaways—invite exploration, while visible brick walls, timber roofs, and exposed systems turn the building itself into a lesson in sustainability. With a green roof that melts into the terrain, this is not just a school—it’s a living classroom rooted in the earth.

TDC Specials: Akashi by Alexis Dornier

Set amidst the serene village of Pererenan, Bali, Akashi Residence is a masterfully designed six-bedroom home that blends modern architectural principles with a spirit of creativity and wonder. At its heart lies a bold central void, an architectural marvel that floods the interiors with natural light and air, fostering a profound sense of openness. Anchoring this void is a sculptural slide — not just a whimsical addition, but a striking symbol of playfulness that redefines residential design. Its sweeping curves energize the space, connecting the upper and lower levels with a sense of fluidity and delight, while the flowing handrail system intensifies the movement, creating a dynamic dialogue between architecture and inhabitant.

The lower level unfolds into a serene poolside oasis, offering a soothing counterpoint to the lively energy of the central void. Here, the home finds its balance — a seamless harmony between movement and stillness, between exploration and retreat. Thoughtfully open to Bali’s lush tropical climate, the design weaves together indoor and outdoor living with natural materials and verdant landscaping. Akashi Residence is not just a home; it is an immersive experience where joy, human connection, and a deep reverence for nature are celebrated in every carefully considered detail.

TDC Specials: Cafe Delhi Heights by MOFA Studio

In a world where dining out competes with the convenience of food delivery, the modern café must offer more than just good food—it must create memorable, shareable experiences. The design for Café Delhi Heights in Faridabad responds to this shift by crafting a quirky, multigenerational space that encourages connection, storytelling, and social media moments. Blending the intimacy of shared experiences with the spectacle of curated settings, the café becomes a canvas where guests—whether teenagers, families, or older couples—can feel at ease while capturing their own stories in an environment designed for both comfort and camera lenses.

The concept takes cues from Wes Anderson’s cinematic style, merging his surreal, color-rich world with contextual references from Delhi and Faridabad’s medieval heritage. Using AI-driven image mashups as iterative moodboards, the design process layered visual cues from both film and reality to develop a whimsical yet grounded spatial identity. The resulting café layout divides the site into three immersive segments, with a central focal point and viewing area that ties the experience together—offering guests a stage-like setting where every corner feels like a scene, ready to be explored, captured, and shared.

TDC Exclusive: Monokuro by Compartment S4

In Ahmedabad, a city shaped by modernist influences from visionaries like Louis Kahn and Le Corbusier, Compartment S4undertook the adaptive reuse of a 1970s canteen block within an industrial complex. Retaining its original geometric form, the design integrates Mild Steel (MS) for structural flexibility, allowing dismantlability and reusability. The transformation into an office space not only preserves the building’s architectural legacy but also aligns it with contemporary spatial needs. A key design move was replacing the old kitchen block with a courtyard, reinforcing the philosophy of placemaking while fostering a sense of community within the industrial setting.

The spatial reconfiguration prioritizes Vastu principles, shifting the entrance to the east and enhancing connectivity through transparent walls and natural light. A cantilevered inverted hip roof—echoing the original structure—further defines the space, while ribbon windows and stone chip plaster balance aesthetics with functionality. Custom-made furniture, a monochrome palette, and warm wood accents lend a refined, modern identity to the interiors. Beyond aesthetics, this project underscores sustainability, repurposing spaces for efficiency and cultural continuity, transforming a forgotten structure into a meaningful workplace.

TDC Specials: QBIK Hyderabad by AMPM Designs

Qbik’s latest outlet in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills transforms a private residence into a luxury retail store. Designed by Akash and Poonam Mehta of , the 3,000 sq. ft. space merges Hyderabad’s ancient rock formations with contemporary aesthetics, creating a seamless dialogue between tradition and modernity. A conservatory concept floods the store with natural light and greenery, enhancing the serene ambiance while keeping Qbik’s fusion silhouettes and groom’s wear at the center. Structural challenges like low ceilings and existing columns have been skillfully addressed, resulting in a space that feels both open and intimate.

The interiors draw inspiration from Hyderabad’s rocky terrain, with micro-concrete floors flowing into textured walls that resemble stone facades. Bespoke furniture, such as metal-crushed leg poufs and rock-inspired coffee tables, reinforces the store’s earthy aesthetic, while boucle-upholstered pieces maintain a refined, neutral palette. Unique design elements, including a custom Jaipur Rugs carpet runner, heritage wallpaper by Kalakaarihaath , and sculptural lighting by Hatsu, enhance the luxurious atmosphere. TDC Specials: The Infinite Rise by Earthscape Studio

Nestled in the mountains with a stunning 180-degree valley view, the site features a natural rock bed and varying slopes, which were carefully preserved in the design. A pre-existing 6-meter land cut was utilized to orient the structure towards the valley, ensuring minimal disturbance to the terrain while maximizing scenic views.

To address strong wind challenges, a gabion wall made from site-sourced rocks was introduced, offering both protection and layered views of the landscape. Sustainable materials like poured earth walls, green oxide flooring, and reclaimed wood were used to enhance energy efficiency and blend the building with its surroundings. An open courtyard and a strategically placed water body further aid in natural cooling, while an infinity pool provides an immersive experience, seamlessly connecting the structure to nature.
