SAGALEE, March 7: A cultural competition was held at Sagalee on Saturday as part of the build-up to the upcoming celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD).
The programme is being organized jointly by three Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) — Mete Dene CLF, Parte Dene CLF and Swgbo CLF — under Sagalee Block. SHG members and local women actively participated in the cultural events, showcasing traditional performances and promoting women’s unity and empowerment.

The Organising Committee appeals to all SHG members and the general public to witness the International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration tomorrow at Sagalee. The programme is organised by Mete Dene CLF, Parte Dene CLF and Swgbo CLF in collaboration with APWWS Sagalee Branch.

As part of the Nayi Chetna 4.0 campaign, a village-level movie screening on women empowerment and gender equality was held today, 10/12/2025, at Rach Tabio Village, Sagalee. SHG members, non-SHG members and male villagers attended the program.

The film highlighted women’s mobility, their role in income generation, shared household work and women’s access to resources.

Male participants also advised the community not to judge men who support women in household chores, as teasing often discourages such positive behaviour.
