The Office of the Resident Commissioner, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has issued an important advisory for students from the state who are studying in various parts of the country, urging them to reach out in case of any emergency or assistance.

According to the notice, students can contact Arunachal Bhawan in New Delhi through dedicated helpline numbers which are operational 24x7.

The emergency student helpline is available at 9870145179, while the Manager of Arunachal Bhawan can be reached at 011-23013915 and 23013844. Additionally, students may contact the Manager of Arunachal House at 011-26117727 and 26117728 for any support.

The resident commissioner assured that the provided contact numbers are accessible round the clock for any kind of help or support required by Arunachalee students residing outside the state.

In two back-to-back operations, police teams from Banderdewa PS and Naharlagun PS apprehended five drug peddlers and seized a total of 140.15 grams of suspected he**in along with vehicles used in drug trafficking on 07.05.2025.
In the second operation the same day, acting on credible input, a special team of Banderdewa PS comprising SI SK Singh, SI Sunny Salong, HC Phassang Guna, L/Ct NS Chauhai, L/Ct R Devi and one section of 138 Bn CRPF intercepted a Maruti SX4 (Regd. No. AS26-1427) at Banderdewa Check Gate. Two individuals, Miss Kirry Riba (23) of Nirjuli and Shri Techi Maj (27) of Lekhi were apprehended. Upon search in the presence of independent witnesses and complying with legal procedures, 66.75 grams of suspected he**in (10 vials) were recovered from Miss Riba's possession. The contraband along with the vehicle used for transportation was seized. A case was registered at Banderdewa PS vide Case No. 41/2025 U/S 21(b) NDPS Act R/W Sec 3(5) BNS.

On 06.05.25 at 1900 hrs a raid was conducted on the house of one Kamra, in DST Colony Daporijo on credible secret information under the supervision of DySP Gamli Loyi, OC Daporijo Inspr. Jawpha Wangsa, SI Jomo Natung and L/SI Chera Akup.
The alleged was apprehended and following items were recovered and seized, viz :
1) 21 nos of tube containing suspected he**ine in them weighing 26.88 gms (with tube) and a plastic pouch containing suspected he**ine in it weighing 2.66 gms.
2) Rs. 25,420/-. Which are proceeds of crime.
3) Empty vials 55 nos.
4) Syringes 16 nos.
5) Empty soap cases 2 nos.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of NDPS Act and further investigation is under process.
