A wave of concern has swept through the Nyobia Circle of Kurung Kumey district following reports of consumers falling ill after drinking allegedly defective Pepsi cold drinks. The incident has prompted a strong public advisory from local authorities urging caution and vigilance.
According to the Gaon Bura of Nyobia Circle, several residents began vomiting shortly after consuming Pepsi that had an unusual taste resembling petrol. Upon inspection, the bottles were found to have a suspicious white spot at the bottom — a detail that has now become a key identifier of potentially contaminated products.
"This is a serious health issue," the Gaon Bura said. "People who drank it started vomiting almost immediately. We are urging everyone to avoid drinking Pepsi until proper checks are done."
In response, the Gaon Bura has appealed to wholesalers and retailers across the district to thoroughly examine all soft drink shipments, particularly bottles of Pepsi, before putting them up for sale. He also called on consumers to report any abnormalities in food or beverages they purchase.
So far, no official statement has been released by the manufacturer, but local health officials are expected to investigate the incident.
Residents are being advised to remain cautious and avoid consuming Pepsi products until further notice. Anyone experiencing symptoms after consuming the drink is encouraged to seek medical attention immediately.
