Due to heavy rainfall causing natural calamities,road connecting from Sekong village to Nedo circle under Bichum District have faced blockage in several areas affecting the public of the particular circle and native villages.
People of Nedo circle under Bichum district extent their gratitude to Social activist Shri Kalley Rijuju for his tremendous efforts in clearance of all the blocked areas inspite the blocked area is excluded under his jurisdiction. Utilizing the Right to Information Act, 2005 provisions enshrined in the constitution, the activists procured documents from various departments, which suggest that numerous firms have misappropriated funds intended for public infrastructure.

The AARTIAA-BDU has raised serious concerns over the financial discrepancies identified in the documents, demanding immediate and necessary action from authorities to address these issues. They stress that accountability is crucial to restore public trust in the governance of development projects.

The event will be organized with the leadership of Shri Bimu Khonjuju as the Organizing Secretary and Shri Jangru Miji as the Organizing Chairman.

BCSWS was established to create a dedicated body focused on the welfare of the Sajolang (Miji) community residing within the Bhalukpong circle of West Kameng District. The society's primary objective is to promote the well-being of the community, while fostering brotherhood, unity, and harmony among the Sajolang (Miji) people and the rest of other communities residing in the region, as Bhalukpong is also popularly known as 'Mini India' where not only one community or tribe exists but a concentration of various tribes and communities across Arunachal Pradesh and the rest of India.

𝑆𝑒𝑘𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑉𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑔𝑒,𝐵𝑖𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑚, 𝐹𝑒𝑏𝑟𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑦 22, 2025 – During the first-ever General Conference of the Sekangjung Youth Association at Sekong Village, the elected members of the association, who have been chosen unopposed to represent the All Bichom District Students Union (ABDSU), pledged to focus on pressing issues affecting the region. The youth leaders emphasized the importance of closely monitoring the economic activities within the Bichom District, particularly in areas concerning education, medical facilities, and the ongoing electricity scarcity in rural villages.

The Vice President (pro) of the ABDSU, Shri. Kiran Khonjuju, who was a key speaker at the conference, urged the state government to address the urgent needs of the district's villages, which continue to face significant challenges. Kiran highlighted the backwardness of these areas and called for immediate action to improve local infrastructure.
A major concern raised by Kiran was the lack of qualified teachers in the schools of the district. He pointed out that several schools remain non-functional due to inadequate staffing, and he stressed the importance of ensuring that a sufficient number of teachers are employed to fully support the educational development of these villages.

Furthermore, Kiran highlighted the electricity crisis affecting villages such as Sekong, Janaching, Jarkam, Challan, and those near the Lada,Besai and Bana areas. The scarcity of electricity continues to disrupt daily life and impede the development of these communities, leaving residents to rely on alternative, often inefficient, sources of power.

The Sekangjung Youths, through its leadership within the ABDSU, has vowed to keep a close watch on the progress of these critical sectors and push for effective government intervention. The conference concluded with a united call for action, as the youth leaders emphasized their commitment to uplifting their communities and ensuring that vital resources are equitably distributed across the district.

𝑺𝒆𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑽𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒆, 𝑭𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒚 22, 2025 – In a historic move, the Sekangjung Youths have set another remarkable milestone by conducting the first-ever general conference of the Sekangjung Youth Association (SYA) cm felicitation of Newly elected members of All Bichom District Students' Union(ABDSU).

The Conference was graced by Society elders,GBs,Gram Chairpersons and panchayat Members.

SYA - a youth body that aims to foster unity, growth, and community welfare. This landmark event was held under the guidance of the Sekangjung Welfare Society (SWS) in Sekong Village.
The conference, which took place amidst great enthusiasm, emphasized the proverb "unity is the strongest weapon," a value that resonates deeply with the Sekangjung community, which comprises three villages. The Sekangjung Youth Association (SYA) was established with the goal of maintaining harmony and unity among the youth of these villages, ensuring a collective future that benefits everyone.
Shri. Regi Khonjuju, the newly appointed President of the SYA, delivered an inspiring message highlighting the importance of youth involvement in shaping the future of the village. He emphasized that the youth are the face of the future and that the SYA's purpose is to guide and shape them on the right path. The association also aims to instill the value of active participation in various village welfare activities, with a strong focus on prioritizing education and development.
Shri. Adong Khonjuju was appointed as the General Secretary of the association, alongside other key leadership roles. These positions are crucial for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the SYA, which will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the community’s overall growth.
The general conference was a grand success, drawing widespread support and participation from the youth across the three villages. The Sekangjung Welfare Society played an instrumental role in organizing the event, which marked a significant moment for the youth of Sekangjung.

𝐽𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔, 07 𝐽𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑎𝑟𝑦 2025 – In a landmark event, the Sekangjung Welfare Society convened a historic General Body Meeting today at Janaching under the chairmanship of Er. Aju Khonjuju. This meeting marked a significant moment for the twin villages of Sekong and Janaching, which have been separated administratively for the past 44 years.
Sekong and Janaching were historically placed under two different districts, East Kameng and West Kameng, respectively. However, with the recent declaration of Bichom District, the long-held dream of uniting these two villages under one administrative district has become a reality. This achievement is attributed to the dedicated efforts and visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu, Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju, and Hon'ble MLA of 7th Bomdila, Shri Dongru Siongju.
The meeting, held to celebrate this unification, aimed to resolve longstanding differences and strengthen the bond between the two brothers. Leaders and residents from both villages attended the meeting, where they unanimously pledged to work together for the collective development and prosperity of the region.
Chairman Er. Aju Khonjuju highlighted the significance of this unity, emphasizing that the merging of Sekong and Janaching under one Bichom District would pave the way for enhanced cooperation, better resource allocation, and overall societal progress.
The gathering concluded on a positive note, with all participants expressing a shared commitment to fostering unity and growth within the sekangjong community and dispel all the differences among the two brothers. || Bichom, Arunachal Pradesh – November 22, 2024:
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, visited Nepangphong, the proposed site for the establishment of the headquarters for the newly created Bichom District. This visit marks the first significant milestone in the development of the district since its creation.

Accompanied by the Director of Town Planning from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju assessed the area’s potential for proper town planning. The minister emphasized the importance of systematic planning for the district headquarters, as Bichom embarks on a new phase of growth and development.
Located approximately 40 to 50 kilometers from Nafra township, Nepangphong is set to become the focal point of administrative activities for the new district. During his visit, Rijiju shared his vision for the region’s future, noting the immense potential of Bichom for economic and infrastructural growth. However, he also acknowledged the challenges faced by the region, particularly its remote location and logistical hurdles.

The visit was attended by the local public, along with representatives from the three communities in the area—the Sajolang (Miji), Puroik, and Aka tribes. These communities, who have long been part of the region's social fabric, expressed their support for the project and the positive changes it could bring to the area.
Speaking to the gathered representatives, Rijiju highlighted the need for careful planning to ensure that Bichom District can fully harness its potential while addressing the drawbacks of the region. The Sajolang Elite Society (SES) marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its 20th Foundation Day in grand fashion at Nafra, Bichom District. The event saw a gathering of prominent dignitaries and community leaders, making it a memorable occasion for the entire Sajolang community.

The SES President, Shri J***y Miji, led the celebrations by hoisting the SES flag, symbolizing unity and strength within the Sajolang community. His presence marked the importance of this day, as SES continues to serve as the apex body organization for the Sajolang people, guiding and nurturing their cultural heritage and social development.

Adding to the event's significance, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Bichom District, Shri Bopai Puroik, attended the celebrations, offering his congratulations and support to the SES. A host of Heads of Departments (HODs) and other dignitaries from the district also attended, contributing to the success of the event.

SES, which was established two decades ago, has played a pivotal role in monitoring the welfare and development of the Sajolang community. Over the years, the society has acted as a caretaker and a guiding force, ensuring the community's cultural values and needs are preserved and addressed.

While the Foundation Day celebrations were held as planned, SES President Shri J***y Miji explained that this year’s event was slightly different. Traditionally, the SES Foundation Day is accompanied by a general conference, where community leaders gather to discuss issues and plans for the future. However, due to the ongoing celebrations of the Chindang Festival, which has kept the community members busy, the general conference was postponed to a later date.

“Actually, the Foundation Day and the general conference were always done together, but this year, due to the Chindang Festival celebrations that kept us busy, the general conference is not conducted along with the Foundation Day celebration this year,” said Shri J***y Miji.

The SES Foundation Day, however, remains a moment of reflection and pride for the Sajolang people. With a rich history and a strong vision for the future, the Sajolang Elite Society is determined to continue its role as a pillar of the community for many more years to come.

The event concluded with a series of cultural performances, which showcased the vibrant traditions and talents of the Sajolang community, leaving everyone in high spirits and eager for the next chapter in SES’s journey.
