India Sends Second Relief Flight to Flood-Hit Nepal

India has stepped up humanitarian assistance to Nepal following devastating flash floods, with a second relief flight carrying 37.5 tonnes of HADR material, medicines and food packets dispatched on August 27.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said India remains in close and continuous contact with Nepalese authorities and will continue supporting the ongoing rescue and relief operations.

The latest consignment follows an earlier shipment of 10 tonnes of humanitarian assistance and essential medicines, bringing India’s relief effort to 47.5 tonnes in two flights.

₹1 Crore US Salary, But He Saved More in India

An NRI earning around ₹1 crore annually in the US has shared a striking comparison of his finances abroad versus his time in India.

He says his US salary works out to roughly ₹8.33 lakh per month, but his monthly house rent alone is around ₹7.7 lakh, leaving little room for savings.

In India, he earned around ₹25 lakh annually, or approximately ₹2 lakh per month. With rent of just ₹30,000, he says he was able to save around ₹1–1.25 lakh every month.

“I used to save more in India than I do in the US.”

His experience has sparked discussion about how salary figures can look very different once living costs, especially housing, are taken into account. For many professionals considering a move abroad, the real question may not be how much they earn—but how much they actually save.

Flash Floods Hit Northern Nepal, Rescue Ops Underway

A major flash flood has swept through Timure and Syabrubesi in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, causing extensive damage to settlements, roads and infrastructure along the Bhotekoshi River.

Nepal’s government has launched a large-scale search, rescue and relief operation, with the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police deployed in the affected areas. Helicopters carrying rescue teams and medical personnel are also being used to reach affected communities.

Authorities are urging residents in vulnerable downstream areas to move to safer locations and avoid travel on several affected roads. The full extent of casualties and damage is still being assessed.

Mamdani Opposes Mohan Bhagwat’s NYC Event
