ICSSR-Sponsored National Seminar on Energy, Sustainability, and Climate Change Held at MUJ
Manipal University Jaipur successfully hosted the National Seminar on “ऊर्जा, स्थिरता और जलवायु परिवर्तन: भारतीय ज्ञान प्रणाली एवं दृष्टिकोण”, organized by the Department of Media, Communication & Fine Arts in collaboration with Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, convened By Dr Prabhat Dixit and Co-Convened by Dr Vinod Yadav
The seminar commenced with Prof. (Dr.) Nitu Bhatnagar, Provost, MUJ, delivering the welcome address, where she highlighted the importance of integrating traditional wisdom with modern approaches to address pressing environmental challenges.
The inaugural session featured eminent speakers including Acharya Mithilesh Sharan Nandini Ji Maharaj, spiritual philosopher and thinker from Ayodhya and Shri Gopal Arya, National Environmental Head, Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The sessions explored themes of sustainability from the lens of Indian knowledge traditions, ancient texts, and modern science.
Dr. Om Prakash Bairwa, Commissioner, College Education, Rajasthan, chaired one of the sessions and stressed the role of higher education in shaping environmentally responsible citizens and policy-driven sustainability practices.
Throughout the day, plenary and technical sessions witnessed scholarly deliberations from academicians, researchers, and thought leaders. The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Vijay Vyas, Director of IGRF, Jaipur, who spoke on the role of ESG in mitigating climate change, along with Prof. Milind Sharma of MBM University, Jodhpur, who addressed sustainable energy practices in India. Prof. Brajesh Kumar, Dean, FoMCA, presided the valedictory session and underlined MUJ’s commitment to fostering meaningful academic discussions on sustainability.
The seminar concluded with certificate distribution, participants’ feedback, and a vote of thanks, reaffirming MUJ’s commitment to research, dialogue, and sustainable development.
