Jaipur Literature Festival is set to celebrate its landmark 20th edition in January 2027, marking two decades of literary exchange, cultural dialogue and the power of multilingual storytelling. Since its inception in 2008, the Festival has hosted more than 8,000 writers, speakers and artists, welcomed over 5 million visitors on-ground and reached an estimated 1 billion+ audiences globally.

Supported by the Government of Rajasthan, the 20th edition will take place in Jaipur from 14th to 18th January 2027, bringing together leading voices from literature, culture, academia and the arts under the theme “20 Years of Ideas. Stories. Conversations.”

A delegation of the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), led by President Mr. Surendra Singh Shahpura, recently met His Highness Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh and invited him to the upcoming Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) and Marwar Travel Mart (MTM).

The delegation also briefed him on the new initiatives, including responsible tourism projects and the first-ever night polo match being organised at the Rajasthan Polo Club as part of RDTM. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh expressed his pleasure at the initiative and said that he would participate in the match.

A health awareness session for senior citizens was recently organised by Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital (SDMH) in association with the Time Bank of India Trust at Manglam Ananda Club House, Jaipur. Around 50 senior citizens participated in the interactive session led by Consultant and Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at SDMH, Dr. Rishav Bansal.

The session focused on geriatric vaccination, regular health check-ups, fall prevention, preventive healthcare and healthy ageing. Participants also interacted with Dr. Bansal and discussed various health concerns, receiving practical guidance on maintaining an active and independent lifestyle.

Night polo was played for the first time in Jaipur at the Rajasthan Polo Club Ground as part of the Annual September Jaipur Polo Season 2026. Two semi-final matches of the RPC Cup Tournament (4 Goals) were played under floodlights, with Team Rambagh/Mayfair Polo defeating Team Gohilwad 9-3, while Team Jaipur beat Team RPC 12-3.5 to enter the final.

The Rajasthan Exports Conclave, organised by FICCI Rajasthan State Council, was recently held in Jaipur on the theme ‘Trade Beyond Borders: Enabling Rajasthan’s Global Growth Story’. Additional Chief Secretary – Industry & Commerce and Chairman, RIICO Ltd, Government of Rajasthan, Shikhar Agrawal highlighted the need to strengthen Rajasthan’s industrial sector, develop industry-relevant skills, invest in technology and improve logistics and ease of doing business.

The conclave brought together policymakers and industry experts to discuss export intelligence, global market access, FTAs, logistics, finance, value addition and sustainability. Speakers also highlighted Rajasthan’s potential in sectors including gems and jewellery, handicrafts, stone, agro-products and renewable energy, while stressing the need to strengthen the state’s export ecosystem and global competitiveness.

An informal meeting with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, was recently held at Rajasthan Polo Club. Discussions focused on tourism, polo, Rajasthan’s rich heritage and opportunities for mutual cooperation between Rajasthan and the UAE.

Following the meeting, the UAE delegation inspected the ponies of the Jaipur Polo Team and Marwari horses. Digvijay Singh and Vikramaditya Singh Barkana from Rajasthan Polo Club, along with members of the UAE delegation, were also present on the occasion.

The 115th Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II was recently celebrated with verve and gusto in Jaipur. In the morning, floral tributes were paid at the statue of the former Maharaja of Jaipur at the Ram Niwas Bagh. Officers and staff of the City Palace also paid floral tributes.

During the day, a talk on the life and legacy of Late Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II was organised by City Palace Museum at the Sarvatobhadra Chowk at the City Palace. In the evening at the Ashok Club, a large number of members garlanded the bust of the late Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. The Army Band also gave a performance on the occasion.

The CII-IWN Rajasthan Annual Session and 7th Women Leadership Summit 2026 was recently organised in Jaipur on the theme ‘Architects of Viksit Bharat: Women Driving the Growth Curve’. Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan, Diya Kumari, called upon CII and IWN to deepen partnerships with the State through mentorship, access to finance, technology, markets and stronger leadership opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

The programme brought together women entrepreneurs, senior women leaders, professionals and policymakers, with inspiring insights from Veenu Gupta, Renu Singhi, Saumya Kabra and Malvika Agarwal.
