Allied (2016) is a romantic war thriller directed by Robert Zemeckis. The story follows Canadian intelligence officer Max Vatan, who is sent to North Africa during World War Il on a dangerous mission.
There he meets French Resistance fighter Marianne Beauséjour, and together they pose as a married couple while carrying out an assassination of a German official.
Their mission succeeds, and they later reunite in London, fall deeply in love, and start a family. However, Max is later informed by British intelligence that Marianne may be a German spy, and he is ordered to test her loyalty. Torn between duty and love, Max struggles to uncover the truth while protecting his family. As suspicion grows, he investigates her past and risks everything. The story builds toward a tense and emotional conclusion revealing whether Marianne is truly a traitor or innocent. Trust and sacrifice define their fate ultimately revealed here.
