MLA Reasi & Deputy Commissioner Review Development Works of Bhimgarh Fort

Reasi,16 September: A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of MLA Reasi, Shri Kuldeep Raj Dubey, and Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ms. Nidhi Malik (IAS), to discuss issues related to the development of Bhimgarh Fort and the utilization of funds under the District Capex Budget for its beautification and illumination.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the beautification and illumination plan, proposals related to the fort raised by the MLA Reasi, and the utilization of funds within the stipulated timeframe
Meeting started with detailed deliberations on installing decorative lighting at the Fort to enhance its visual appeal. The Deputy Commissioner directed the Electricity Division to ensure that only high-quality lights are installed, with proper maintenance provisions included in the DPR, so that the project becomes a durable and long-lasting asset.She further instructed the Executive Engineer, PWD, to prepare and submit the DPR at the earliest to facilitate onward submission and expedite the project’s ex*****on.
Water supply arrangements at the Fort were also discussed. The DC directed the Executive Engineer, PHE, to visit and inspect the existing water supply lines and prepare a DPR accordingly to ensure previous supply lines are also used and water reaches within the Fort premises.DC further told XEN that this DPR must include provisions for making the fountain functional as part of the beautification plan.
In addition, the DC instructed the PWD to prepare a DPR for restoration works and damage assessment of the Fort structures so that necessary repair and conservation measures can be undertaken promptly.
The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) was directed to ensure proper fencing of the adjoining forest area, maintain greenery, and keep the surroundings of Bhimgarh Fort clean.
The DC also asked the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Reasi to coordinate with the Department of Archaeology and Archives to chalk out a sustainable framework for the maintenance and upkeep of the Fort.
Alongside this, discussions were also held regarding the renovation and beautification of Sula Park.The DC directed DFO that funds are available for the Sula park, and the project must be taken up on priority.
The Tehsildar confirmed that the Baroodkhana land dispute has been resolved. Following this, the DC directed the PWD to start work, and the previously allocated funds may now be utilized.
During the meeting, discussions were also held on other proposals related to tourism sector, including beautification projects and the installation of the Indian National Flag. The DC assured that the district administration is making consistent efforts to mobilize funds from all possible sources with the vision of transforming Reasi into a beautiful and attractive tourist hub.
