**SAMBA POLICE SEIZES 12 QUINTALS ADULTERATED PANEER**

Samba: October 09, 2025: Samba Police has seized approximately 12 quintals adulterated paneer from two vehicles in the jurisdiction of Police Post Rajpura falling under Police Station Ghagwal.

Acting on specific information, a team of Police Post Rajpura laid a naka near PP Rajpura and intercepted Swift Car bearing registration No. PBO6AL-2806 Swift car & Tata Innova Car bearing registration No. HR39B-0400. During checking, approximately 08 quintals of paneer was recovered from Innova car whereas approximately 04 quintals of paneer was recovered from Swift car. The vehicles were moving from Punjab to Jammu side via border road. Police has seized both the vehicles on the spot.

Accordingly, the matter was taken up with the Food Safety Department who has conducted on spot sampling and found that the recovered paneer was adulterated and unfit for human consumption.

Jammu Police, South Zone, has once again reinforced the spirit of the reformed criminal justice system by ensuring accountability through community-based sentencing. On the action of Police Station Satwari, two individuals — Raj Kumar S/o Tara Chand and Rakesh Kumar S/o Jagar Mal, both residents of Chatha Mill, Jammu — were booked for public misconduct under the influence of alcohol.

The Hon’ble Court imposed a fine of ₹200 on Raj Kumar, while Rakesh Kumar was directed to perform community service for two days at Shiv Mandir, Narwal Pain, Satwari.

This action reflects the reformative and rehabilitative intent of the newly introduced criminal justice framework, emphasizing corrective community engagement over mere punitive measures in minor offences.

**Absconder Wanted Since 1996 Traced by Jammu (Rural) Police.**

In a significant breakthrough, Jammu (Rural) Police have traced an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past 29 years.

The accused, identified as *Manzoor Ahmed, son of Gh. Qadir Baba, resident of Khadwani, Kulgam,* was wanted in connection with a criminal case registered under *FIR No. 34/1996 under sections 366/376/363 RPC at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.*

A warrant under Section 512 CrPC had been issued against the accused, who had remained untraced for nearly three decades.

Acting on sustained efforts and coordination, *Jhajjar Kotli Police led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli,Insp Vikas Dogra with the assistance of Police Station Qaimoh,* identified that the absconder was already lodged in Kulgam Jail.

Following confirmation, the lodgment certificate along with the warrant was produced before the concerned court in Jammu for further legal proceedings.

In continuation of its sustained efforts to curb the drug menace, Police Station Miran Sahib apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband from his possession. The action reflects the ongoing commitment of Jammu Police to keep the community free from the influence of narcotics.

Acting on a reliable input, a police team from Police Station Miran Sahib, led by SHO Miran Sahib,Inspector Azad Manhas,under the supervision of SDPO R S Pura & SP Headquarters Jammu,swiftly apprehended one *Rohit Kumar @ Pidha S/o Vijay Kumar R/o Phinder,Miran Sahib*. During the search, the team recovered 06 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.

In this regard, FIR No. 131/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib. Further investigation is in progress to identify the source of the contraband and ascertain both backward and forward linkages of the accused.

The timely action of Jammu Police highlights their proactive approach in tackling the supply of narcotics and maintaining public safety in the area. Regular patrolling and surprise checks are being carried out to deter drug-related activities.

Jammu Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and appeals to citizens to share any information related to drug peddling, assuring strict action against those involved in the illegal trade.

*GRP JAMMU APPREHENDS ONE ACCUSED WITH 15 GRAMS OF HE**IN-LIKE SUBSTANCE*

Jammu, October 9, 2025:
Continuing its sustained drive against the menace of drug trafficking, the Police team of Police Post GRP Budhi, while performing routine checking duty at Railway Fatak Budhi, intercepted a motorcycle Hero Splendor bearing registration number JK08N-2411.

On questioning, the motorcycle rider disclosed his identity as Mohd. Yasir S/o Mohd. Yousuf R/o Jagatpur, Maggar Khad, Tehsil and District Kathua. During the course of his personal search, the police team recovered 15 grams of heroin-like (Chitta) substance from his possession.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 09/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station GRP Kathua, and investigation of the case has been entrusted to SI Kishori Lal of PS GRP Kathua.

Further investigation is being carried out to ascertain the forward and backward linkages of the accused involved in the drug network.

The arrest and recovery were made under the guidance of Insp. Ajay Engotra, SHO PS GRP Kathua, under the close supervision of Sh. Harmohinder Singh, DySP/SDPO Railways Vijaypur, and the overall Command of Sh. Shailender Singh, JKPS, SSP Railways Jammu.

GRP Jammu reaffirms its commitment to eradicate the drug menace and ensure safety and security across the railway station.
