Swift Action by Jammu (Rural) Police: Akhnoor Robbery Case Solved, Laptop Recovered, Five Arrested

Jammu (Rural) Police have solved the recent robbery case in Akhnoor, arrested five accused, and recovered a laptop.

On September 17, 2025, at around 11 p.m., Parvez Ahmed, son of Farid Ahmed, resident of Thanole, District Reasi, lodged a written complaint at Police Station Akhnoor against unknown persons. Acting on the complaint, FIR No. 173/2025 under sections 126(2)/310(2)/115(2)/191(2)/190 of the BNS was registered, and investigation began.

The complainant, who works as a driver of a Tata Mobile load carrier, stated that he was traveling from Jammu towards Reasi. When he reached near Maira Mandrian in Akhnoor, an auto e-rickshaw suddenly stopped his vehicle. Five persons onboard attacked him, injured him, and smashed the windshield, glasses, and rear-view mirror of his vehicle. They forcibly looted a laptop and ₹53,000 in cash before fleeing. During the incident, accused Vishal Singh also sustained injuries.

Upon receiving the complaint, the investigating officer rushed to the spot, inspected the scene, and collected crucial leads. Based on these, police nabbed two accused within 24 hours, and later arrested the remaining three. The recovered laptop and the auto e-rickshaw used in the crime were seized in the presence of independent witnesses.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

1. Atul Sharma, son of Madan Lal, resident of Bhardah Khurd, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu.

2. Vishal Singh, son of Sukhdev Singh, resident of Tritta Dabrar, District Udhampur.

3. Amit Sharma, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Bhardah Khurd, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu.

4. Neeraj Sharma, son of Ramesh Chander, resident of Maira Mandrian, Akhnoor, District Jammu.

5. Rohit Sharma, son of Makhan Lal, resident of Mawa Karora, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu.

Preliminary investigation revealed that all the accused had conspired in advance in a forested area and executed the crime as a pre-planned act.

All the accused are currently under police remand, and further interrogation and investigation are underway.

On 19/9/2025 a Police Party of Police Post Gujjar Nagar headed by Incharge PP Gujjar Nagar PSI Zulfikar Ahmad under the supervision of SHO Peermitha,Inspector Raza Ali , while performing patrolling and naka duty at Gujjar Nagar and Prem Nagar areas intercepted one motorcycle bearing registration No. JK02CT-0704 at Prem Nagar near Jogi gate parking area.

During checking, 05 gms of he**in like substance was recovered from the procession of the rider of the said motorcycle namely *Deepak Kumar R/o Ganesh Dass R/o Ambaran Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.*

In this regard, a Case FIR No. 39/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Peer Mitha Jammu.Accused has been arrested and taken into custody.

Further investigation is underway to unearth his backward and forward linkages and to expose the larger network involved in this illegal trade.

The recovery and arrest demonstrate the firm resolve of Jammu Police to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.

Jammu (Rural) Police caught a buffalo thief in Jyorian and recovered the stolen cattle within just a few hours.

In a swift and effective action, the Jyorian Police Post arrested a buffalo thief and successfully recovered the stolen cattle within hours of the crime.

The accused has been identified as Murad Ali, son of Gulab Din, resident of Aizal Malal, who was wanted in connection with FIR No. 164/2025 under Section 303(2) BNS, registered on September 6, 2025.

Police investigation revealed that the accused was involved in the theft of two buffaloes on September 6. Acting promptly, the Jyorian police team arrested the accused and ensured the safe recovery of the stolen cattle.

The swift action of the police was widely appreciated by local residents, who lauded the efficiency, dedication, and commitment of the police force in maintaining peace and security in the area.

*Jammu Police Busts Cattle Theft Gang, Stolen Animals Recovered ,03 Arrested in Akhnoor.*

Jammu Police have achieved a major breakthrough by arresting three accused persons involved in cattle theft and recovering the stolen bovine animals in Akhnoor.

On 25/08/2025, a written complaint was lodged by *Sheetal Verma S/o Gandheru R/o Tanda, Akhnoor,* stating that during the intervening night of 24/25-08-2025, some unknown thieves stole bovine animals from near his residence at Tanda, Akhnoor. Acting on the complaint, *FIR No. 153/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS* was registered at Police Station Akhnoor, and the investigation was entrusted to PSI Arif Dar.

During the course of investigation, three suspects were detained, namely:-

*1.Nayar Ali S/o Abdul Latif R/o Raguda, District Jammu.*

*2.Manzoor Mohd. S/o Kazi Mohd. R/o Belicharana.*

*3.Mohd. Salim S/o Abdul Gani R/o A/P Belicharana.*

On sustained questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the theft. Based on their disclosure, the stolen bovine animals were successfully recovered. Police teams are conducting further raids, and more recoveries are expected.

The investigation of the case was carried out under the close supervision of *SP Rural Jammu Brijesh Sharma, SDPO Akhnoor, and SHO Police Station Akhnoor Insp Rajesh Jasrotia.*

The swift action of Akhnoor Police in solving the case and recovering the stolen animals has been highly appreciated by the general public of the area.

अखनूर में चिनाब नदी का जलस्तर खतरे के निशान से 11 फीट ऊपर बह रहा है। शाम 8 बजे अखनूर में चिनाब नदी का जलस्तर 46 फीट मापा गया, जो लगातार बढ़ रहा था। यह 35 फीट के खतरे के निशान से 11 फीट ऊपर बह रहा है, जिस पर प्रशासन ने हाई अलर्ट घोषित कर दिया है। प्रशासन ने नदी के किनारे लगे इलाकों में लोगों को निकालना शुरू कर दिया है। वहीं अखनूर कस्बे के जियो पोता घाट स्थित मुख्य वैष्णो मंदिर में जब तीन फीट पानी घुस गया तो मंदिर में रखे सभी सामान को सुरक्षित स्थान पर शिफ्ट कर दिया गया। प्रशासन और पुलिस ने नदी के चारों ओर से लोगों को निकालना शुरू कर दिया है।
