4873 Fruit-Laden Trucks Evacuated in 2 Days; 500 More to Leave Qazigund by Midnight: Div Com Kashmir
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 18: In a major push to support fruit growers and traders, the Divisional Administration has successfully facilitated the evacuation of 4,873 fruit-laden trucks over the past two days. The operation, supervised by IG Traffic included evacuation of 2,239 trucks via the National Highway and 2,634 via the Mughal Road.
Additionally, the last lot of 500 trucks are scheduled to be dispatched from Qazigund by Traffic police later tonight, thus clearing the entire backlog of stranded vehicles and streamlining the flow of traffic on the National Highway.
The Divisional Administration, under continuous guidance from Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, has mobilized all available resources to expedite the transportation of horticultural produce. Pertinently, the Chief Secretary has been monitoring the situation closely, conducting daily reviews with all stakeholder departments to ensure expeditious restoration of the highway, streamline flow of traffic and address the concerns of fruit growers and traders.
Besides, the administration has also undertaken necessary measures to facilitate Valley bound trucks carrying essential commodities viz LPG, Petrol, Diesel, fresh fruits & vegetables and life saving drugs to replenish the stocks and cater to the local demand.

*POLICE STATION R.S. PURA,JAMMU APPREHENDS ONE ACCUSED DURING PATROLLING IN SUCHETGARH AREA AND RECOVERS 54 POUCHES OF DESI ILLICIT LIQUOR FROM HIS POSSESSION*

In its sustained drive against the menace of illicit liquor, Police Station R.S. Pura achieved a significant success by apprehending one person and seizing 54 pouches of Desi illicit liquor from his possession.

A police team of P/S R.S. Pura, led by PSI Sadam Bashir under the supervision of SHO R.S. Pura,Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar during routine patrolling in village Tohana Tibba, Suchetgarh, intercepted a suspicious person. On frisking, *54 pouches of Desi illicit liquor were recovered.*

The accused has been identified as *Veer Singh S/o Sansar Singh R/o Abdal, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu.* He was arrested on the spot and the contraband was seized accordingly.

In this connection, *FIR No. 190/2025 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station R.S. Pura* and further investigation is underway.

Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to curb the smuggling and sale of illicit liquor to ensure a safer and healthier society.

Training on Incident Response System held for District Kathua

DC Kathua calls for implementing IRS learnings in real-time situations

Kathua, September 18: A virtual training programme on Incident Response System (IRS) was today conducted for District Kathua by DMRR&R department through Brig. Kuldip Singh (Retd) as the resource person.

The training aimed at sensitizing officers about the structured framework of IRS for effective disaster management, ensuring a coordinated approach by all line departments during emergencies.

Brig. Kuldip Singh (Retd) shared detailed insights on the concept, objectives and functioning of the Incident Response System, highlighting the importance of establishing a clear chain of command, role clarity and efficient resource mobilization during crisis situations. He also explained how the system provides uniformity in response, reduces duplication of efforts and ensures optimum use of resources.

The participants were apprised about the responsibilities of Incident Commanders and other designated officers, the need for inter-departmental coordination and the use of IRS in handling both natural and man-made disasters.

Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that such trainings are vital in strengthening district-level preparedness and in building the capacity of officers to act swiftly and effectively during disaster situations. He urged all participants to implement the learnings in real-time scenarios to safeguard lives and property.

The session was attended by CEO DDMA Vishavjeet Singh (ADC), ACR Vishav Partap Singh, CPO Ranjit Thakur officers from NDRF, SDRF, Revenue, Police, Health, Fire & Emergency Services, PWD, Jal Shakti, PDD, Information and other stakeholder departments.

Chirag Attri, a habitual and wanted drug kingpin from Chak Jaralan, Bishnah, has been booked under the PIT NDPS Act and lodged in District Jail Udhampur. Despite multiple cases against him, Attri continued to supply drugs to local youth, prompting the authorities to take stringent action.
