Nourishing Lives, Restoring Hope: Flood Relief from Old Age Home Continues
Jammu, August 30, 2025: In a commendable and heartfelt display of solidarity, the Home for the Aged & Infirm (Old Age Home), Ambphalla, Jammu, once again extended a helping hand to the families severely impacted by the recent floods in Jammu & Kashmir.
Today, the Home distributed 1,000 packed lunches consisting of Rajma Chawwal, pickle and a water bottle to the flood-affected families in several villages and surrounding areas of Jammu District. The team of Oldage Home was lead by Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary with Vijay Gupta, Jt.Secretary, SatPal Sharma, Pankaj Gupta and R.C.Vaid, Committee Members besides Sr.Rajinder Singh, Life Member and Sr. Parvinder Singh, Ex-Sarpanch. The area broadly covered were Village Bore Camp, Mangu Chak, Nandwal, Sure Chak, and areas within Jammu city. The relief packages were provided to those in dire need, especially those struggling to cope with the aftermath of the devastating floods.
With the floodwaters having caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure, basic necessities such as food and water remain a critical need for these affected families.
Sh. I.D. Soni, the President of the Home for the Aged & Infirm, expressed his deep concern for the suffering caused by the calamity. "We believe that during times of distress, every act of kindness counts. The elderly, who often face physical limitations, can still show immense compassion, and this relief distribution is our way of making a difference in the lives of the affected families," he said.
The Home has been at the forefront of relief efforts throughout the ongoing flood crisis and has committed to continue its support to the affected communities with future initiatives in the coming days. With the help of the staff, volunteers, and generous donors, the Home aims to provide immediate relief to as many people as possible and help rebuild the lives of those who have lost everything.

Azad expresses grief over Ramban cloudburst, Reasi landslide; calls for aid to flood victims

Jammu Sept 30: Former Chief Minister J&K, Chairman DPAP Ghulam Nabi Azad, has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic loss of lives in Jammu region due to natural calamities. Azad said, “I am deeply pained by the cloudburst in Rajgarh, Ramban that claimed 4 precious lives and left several missing. Equally heart-wrenching is the landslide in Reasi, in which 7 members of a family lost their lives. These tragedies have caused unbearable pain to the affected families. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families and I pray for the safety of those still missing.” He further said that as more rainfall has been predicted in the coming days, people in vulnerable areas must remain alert and cautious. Azad urged the Government to make proper arrangements for the victims and stressed the need for immediate relief and assistance to the flood-affected families in Jammu & Chenab valley. He also lauded the Indian Army, J&K Police and SDRF for their timely efforts in rescuing people and for constructing a bridge in Jammu to restore connectivity amid the crisis. He said their service and dedication in these testing times deserve high appreciation.

GGF Women Wing Jammu Organises Langar Seva & Relief Distribution for Flood-Affected Families at Mangu Chak

Jammu, August 29:
In a spirit of service and solidarity, the Women Wing of Gandhi Global Family (GGF) Jammu organised a Langar Seva at Mangu Chak, reaching out to the families severely affected by recent floods. The initiative was aimed at providing immediate relief and support to the distressed community.

Along with serving freshly prepared langar, the team also distributed sanitary napkins, biscuits, candles, matchsticks and other essential items to the affected households. These efforts were directed towards not only meeting the immediate food needs of families but also ensuring their dignity, health and safety during these testing times.
Padam Shri Dr. S. P. Varma, Lt. General Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Alka Sharma, Summi Sahi, Punit Kour, Inderdeep Singh, Manohar, Jaswinder Kuku and other members were present there.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the GGF Women Wing expressed their commitment to stand with the people in crisis and highlighted the importance of community-driven relief efforts. They reiterated that such initiatives strengthen the bond of humanity and inspire others to contribute selflessly.

The affected families expressed gratitude for the timely support extended by the organisation. GGF Women Wing assured that their relief measures will continue in other affected areas as well.
