LG J&K On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, dedicated Tawi Riverfront Project (Phase-I) to the public. In Phase-I, Jammu Smart City Ltd has developed promenades on the left bank, right bank and the central island, creating four continuous stretches for walking, jogging and cycling.

A dedicated ghat area has also been developed for the sacred Tawi Aarti. Also, laid the foundation stone for 4-lane connecting road to the right Bank with a bridge to decongest critical stretch of city & directly connect Bhagwati Nagar Rotary with Jewel Chowk.

TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR

TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 15-04-2026: -

From 13-04-2026, 1600 hrs. to 14-04-2026, 1600 hrs., there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to single lane traffic between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs.

Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/ landslides, movement of nomads towards valley as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

NH-44 (NHW)

The down tube at Shalgarhi, is still closed due to landslides and shooting stones. Road clearance work is going on. Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVS Passenger/HPVs/ Private Cars/HMVs (Good carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.

SFs Convoy Movement: -

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244: -

Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag Road is temporarily closed for vehicular movement as per orders issued by the District Magistrate Anantnag vide No. DCA/SQ/26/D/133-41 dated 16-03-2026 and the Sub-Division Magistrate Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2025- 26/1200-08 dated 16-03-2026.

SSG ROAD

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies) LMVs followed by HMVs (upto six tyres only) shall be allowed to ply from Srinagar towards Kargil on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. In view of the apprehension of avalanches along the Zoji La axis, these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil only after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies and no vehicle shall be allowed after 1030 hrs. Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chain to gain more grip on the slippery road. TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut off timing. SFs Convoy, moving from Srinagar towards Kargil shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic don't get disturbed.

Mughal Road: -

As per order issued by the District Magistrate Shopian DMS/ADM-PS/25-26/4772- 4781 dated 26-02-2026 and the District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DMP/J/13043-52 dated 26-02-2026. Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF). Only LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa via Poonch. These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Baffliaz) towards Shopian and Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1100 hrs. to 1500 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut off timing.

Crime, Security and Law and Order Review Meeting Chaired by DIG JKS Range Sh. Shridhar Patil IPS in District Police Lines, Jammu
Jammu, 14 apr:

A comprehensive crime review meeting was held at District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu, under the chairmanship of Sh , -P .

During the meeting, SSP Jammu Sh. Joginder Singh gave a detailed presentation about the overall law and order and crime scenario and strategies adopted to deal across Jammu.

The DIG-P giving in-depth analysis of each aspect emphasised that core strategies needs change to deal with crimes and challenges of current time. Infusion of technology, innovation and responsive policing is the need of hour for public trust. He also highlighted importance of maintaining strict law and order control protocols, enhancing police presence during critical hours, and ensuring prompt response to incidents.

Special focus was laid on tackling narcotics-related cases under , preventing thefts, and breaking nexus of narco-terror and other criminal activities.

Officers were directed to intensify patrolling, strengthen naka checking, and ensure effective surveillance in sensitive areas through strong monitoring mechanisms. The DIG-P stressed the need for timely investigation and disposal of pending cases, with a focus on improving conviction rates.

DIG-P JKS further directed the officers to review anti-infiltration grid, implementation of SOP for VDGs of border villages and city security grid.

Reviewing ongoing investigations, the chair urged officers to adopt a professional and result-oriented approach while ensuring transparency and accountability in their functioning. He further directed field officers to maintain close coordination with intelligence agencies and strengthen community policing initiatives to build public trust.

Senior officers of the range headquarters, district head and supervisory officers, SHOs and branch heads attended the meeting.

The meeting concluded with Bada Khana with all officers and officials of the Jammu District.

Director Information felicitates Winners of ‘Talent Vista-Poster Making, Slogan Writing Competition on Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan’ at Jammu
JAMMU, APRIL 13: Director Information, Shreya Singhal today felicitated the winners of the ‘Talent Vista-Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition on Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan’ at Media Complex here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director Information congratulated the winners and applauded all participants for their exceptional creativity and commitment towards the social cause. She emphasized that such awareness campaigns play a crucial role in sensitizing society, especially the younger generation, about the harmful effects of drug addiction and the need for collective efforts to eradicate this menace.
The Director further reiterated the Administration’s commitment to strengthening public outreach initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan. She encouraged the participants and young minds to continue participating in awareness-driven activities that contribute positively to society.
The Director presented certificates and mementos to the winners for their creative efforts and meaningful contributions towards spreading awareness against drug abuse.
Pertinently, the competition witnessed more than 3600 entries across Jammu and Kashmir. Sneha Devi from Dewan Devi Public School won in Slogan Writing while as Priya Rathore from Udhampur achieved first rank in poster making competition.
Information Officers Maheer Thakur and Alka Mishra were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
