ASSAR NAKA YIELDS 83 GRAMS OF CHARAS-LIKE SUBSTANCE; ONE HELD

Doda Police continued its intensified campaign against narcotics with the apprehension of a suspected drug carrier and recovery of approximately 83 grams of charas-like substance during naka checking at Wani Morh on NH-244 in Assar.

The action was taken when a police party conducting routine checking noticed a pedestrian proceeding from Assar towards Karmail. According to police, the individual became suspicious on seeing the naka and tried to move away from the spot. The alert personnel immediately intercepted him and took him into custody.

During the subsequent search, police recovered approximately 83 grams of charas-like substance from his possession. The arrested person has been identified as Gulshan Ahmed, son of Abdul Subhan, resident of Ganota, Tehsil Assar, District Doda.

The operation was conducted by a police team led by PSI Amandeep Singh, under the supervision of the SHO, Police Station Assar.

In connection with the recovery, FIR No. 38/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Assar. Investigation is underway to establish the source of the recovered contraband and ascertain whether the accused has any links with a wider drug network.

ILLICIT LIQUOR HAUL INTERCEPTED AT PUL DODA; 80 BOTTLES SEIZED, TWO BOOKED

Doda, September 23, 2026: In a continued crackdown on the illegal trade and transportation of liquor, Doda Police intercepted a vehicle at Pul Doda and recovered 80 bottles of illicit liquor from its occupants.

The action was carried out by a police team from Police Post Pul Doda, Police Station Doda, after receiving credible information regarding the transportation of liquor towards Doda City. The team, led by the In-Charge Police Post Pul Doda, laid a naka at Pul Doda and stopped an auto bearing registration number JK06C-4929.

During the subsequent search, police recovered 72 bottles of JK Special Wh**ky, each measuring 250 ml, along with 8 bottles of Godfather B**r, each measuring 500 ml.

The two persons travelling in the vehicle were identified as Surinder Singh, son of Late Rana Sundar Singh, resident of Doda, and Slinder Singh, son of Angrez Singh, resident of Kudhar, Doda.

The entire consignment was seized on the spot following due legal procedure, while necessary proceedings have been initiated against the accused under the relevant provisions of law.

DODA POLICE TIGHTENS NOOSE AROUND ILLEGAL MINING; TWO TRACTOR-TROLLIES SEIZED

Doda Police has intensified its action against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, with two tractor-trollies seized in the Gandoh area for allegedly carrying ordinary sand without valid permission.

The action was carried out by a team from Police Station Gandoh, led by the Station House Officer, during checking in the area. The vehicles, driven by Nazeer Ahmed, son of Talib Hussain, and Tanveer Ahmad, son of Alam Hussain, both residents of Dalmera, Gandoh, were intercepted while transporting sand without the required authorization.
