Government Medical College Rajouri celebrated World Autism Awareness Day with great enthusiasm and commitment towards social awareness and inclusiveness.

The programme was organized under the visionary leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) A.S. Bhatia and was graced by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Shri Abhishek Sharma (IAS) as the Chief Guest. Dr. Harleen Kour was present as the Guest of Honour.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr. Muniraj SB, NITI Aayog, and ADDC Rajouri, Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq.

A special attraction of the event was the performance by renowned Dogri singer Shri Bishan Dass, which added joy, cultural richness, and vibrance to the programme.

The students of GMC Rajouri participated enthusiastically and made the event lively through dance, music, and cultural celebration. The programme successfully conveyed the message of autism awareness, acceptance, and inclusiveness.

Radio Doda 88.8 FM Inaugurated by DC Doda: A New Voice for the Community*

Doda, March 24: In a landmark step towards strengthening local communication and cultural identity, Radio Doda 88.8 FM was formally inaugurated today by the Deputy Commissioner of Doda. The launch marks a new chapter in community engagement, giving the people of Doda their very own platform to share voices, stories, and aspirations.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the transformative role of community radio in bridging gaps between administration and citizens. “Radio Doda will not only entertain but also educate, inform, and empower the people of this region. It is a medium that belongs to the community and reflects its heartbeat,” he said.

Community radio stations are unique in their ability to amplify local voices. Radio Doda will provide a platform for youth, women, farmers, and artisans to share their experiences and ideas. From folk music and cultural programs to discussions on health, education, and livelihood, the station will celebrate the diversity and resilience of Doda’s people.

The station is expected to deliver timely updates on government schemes, local news, and emergency alerts, while also promoting literacy, skill development, and awareness campaigns. By showcasing local traditions, music, and storytelling, Radio Doda will help preserve the district’s rich heritage. JU’s Bhaderwah Campus Students Shine at Annual Startup Mela – Startup Idea Challenge 2025–26

Bhaderwah, January 30: Students of School of Management Studies, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, brought laurels to the institution by securing prestigious awards at the Annual Startup Mela – Startup Idea Challenge 2025–26, organized by the Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI). The students showcased innovative startup ideas and demonstrated commendable entrepreneurial skills on this highly competitive and reputed platform.

After qualifying through three rigorous stages of evaluation, the startup ideas presented by the students were shortlisted and awarded across different categories. The awards were conferred by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, adding further distinction and significance to this notable achievement.

Under the Sustainability Stars Award category, Ms. Prakriti Dutt, a student of MBA 4th Semester, emerged as the winner and received a cash prize of ₹25,000 for her innovative and sustainable startup idea. Mr. Arif, a student of BBA 6th Semester, was honoured with the Rural Impact Award and also received a cash prize of ₹25,000 for his startup concept aimed at fostering rural development. Additionally, Mr. Rohit Bhagat received the Jury Recommended Award along with a cash prize of ₹10,000, recognizing the originality and future potential of his startup idea.

Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus, congratulated the award-winning students and applauded their creativity, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit. He remarked that such accomplishments reflect the vibrant and evolving entrepreneurial ecosystem at Bhaderwah Campus and reaffirm the institution’s commitment to promoting innovation, leadership, and startup culture among students. He further emphasized that platforms like the Startup Mela play a crucial role in translating academic ideas into practical, real-world solutions.

Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Head, School of Management Studies, Bhaderwah Campus, expressed immense pride in the outstanding performance of the students. He stated that the success achieved is the result of continuous mentoring, academic guidance, and a strong emphasis on experiential and outcome-based learning within the department.

Dr. Umesh Choudhary also placed on record his sincere appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the faculty members, Dr. Rohit Bhagat, Dr. Mohammed Avais, Dr. Umar Sadeeq, Dr. Shabir Hussain, Asma Jamil, Surbi Langeh, Dr. Alyas Ahmed, Amit, Rajinder Kumar, Mehmood Ahmed, and Bhumeeka Katoch whose constant encouragement, guidance and academic support played a pivotal role in nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset of the students.

He further encouraged students to actively participate in such competitive platforms, as they provide valuable exposure and opportunities for holistic professional development.

Grand Convocation Marks Successful Conclusion of One-Month Leadership Development Workshop in Kishtwar
Kishtwar, January 31, 2026: The one-month Leadership Development Workshop, organized by the Institute for Intellectual Development J&K (IID J&K) in collaboration with Mothers Pride High School, Kishtwar, culminated in a grand convocation ceremony that concluded with resounding success.
The program, focused on honing leadership skills, discipline, and personal development, empowered participants with renewed confidence and a clear sense of purpose. The event began with an inaugural lecture by Dr. Mohammad Shuaib, Director of IID J&K, setting an inspiring tone.
