After busting of S*x Racket in Greater Kailash area of Jammu,another case has been a matter of concern for Sikh community and sikh leadership of Jammu.
"Sikh kids falling in trap of Drugs and Narcotics."
In many years of J&K state it has Never been seen that sikh community of Jammu getting involved in such heinous and forbidden taboo of Drugs.
Initially Beard Trimming then hair cuttings,ugly flat Patki trend,tattooing and eventually Drugs.
Today every morning newspaper is shown having sikh youth"s involvement in such crimes.
It a big question on the credibility of Jammu Sikh Community and honest devotion of political leaders towards sikh youth of Jammu as:
1) What are the causes behind all this ?
2)Why young kids are getting involved in drugs and who is supporting them ?
3) Who is pushing young sikh youth in sale purchase of drugs ?
4) Many girls and boys are reported in Colleges hunting vulnerable youths into this epidemic.
5) Where is funding coming from and who is facilitating all these ?
6) Every case study has different reasoning but what remains same is the hunger of competing others by hook or crook to get rich fast.
7) Poverty,illiteracy,unemployment plays a major role but not all the excuses can be validated to do wrong.
Organising big Nagar kirtans,chetna march from every colony will only be fruitful when you have your coming generation in pooran Guru rehat maryada away from these bad things.
1-Organize Drug Awareness Seminars in every Gurudwara biweekly and proper awareness should be given.
2- Get youth into religious Sewa and activities by organizing more Amrit Sanchars.
3- Western culture and today"s social media is also main reason of manipulation of kids behaviour. It should be given required awareness.
4- Drug peddlers work largerly from schools colleges and evey responsible sikh youths of colleges must make small Groups to keep watch on it and report immediately to authority if suspicious.
5- Pamphlet must be printed and given to every Sikh Family to stay aware of the consequences of drugs.
6) An organization should be made to keep track of affected sikh youth and stay in touch with them for timely counsellling.
7) Any family member or parents supporting their Drug peddler kid must be counselled politely and repeatedly to extract the real situation.
8) Truck drivers,taxi drivers,rickshaw drivers are the most affected and a record must be made of all sikhs in this services.
9) Education and Employment of sikh youths must be the first agenda of every leadership after religious intake.
10) Strict action must be taken against any one found involved in it ,if he/she doesnt corrects themselves.
11) Community Phone line number must be displayed at every Gurudwara witb Posters of Drug problem in Jammu where any affected person can reach.
12) Control line number must be rest on every Gurudwara office where the the caller must be kept anonymous.
13)People fear calling Police to avoid getting involved or questioned, so a Ballot box/Complaint box must be put at evey gurudwara in such cases.
Community can only be safe with inter communication and support .
Kids are future of every community.
