ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦੇਣ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, 25 ਅਗਸਤ-
ਕਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਜਬਰ-ਜਨਾਹ ਵਰਗੇ ਸੰਗੀਨ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਕੱਟ ਰਹੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਦੋਹਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਖਪਾਤੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨੂੰ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਫਰਲੋ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਜ਼ਰਬੰਦ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਤੀਰਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗਤਾ ’ਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੈ। ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤਿੰਨ-ਤਿੰਨ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਜ਼ਰਬੰਦ ਬੰਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਵੀ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸੇ ਪੱਖਪਾਤੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਬੰਦੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸਜ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਲਟਕਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਲਾਹੇ ਲਈ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਦੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖੋਂ-ਪਰੋਖੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਫਰਲੋ ਦੇਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੰਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਖਪਾਤੀ ਰਵੱਈਆ ਅਪਣਾਉਣਾ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਚਿੰਤਾਜਨਕ ਹੈ। ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਦੋਹਰੇ ਮਾਪਦੰਡ ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੇਗਾਨਗੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

SGPC President Advocate Dhami Strongly Objects to Granting Parole Again to Gurmeet Ram Rahim
Amritsar, August 25 —
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly objected to the government once again granting parole to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving sentences for serious crimes, including murder and r**e. He said that the government's decision clearly reflects a double standard and a discriminatory approach.
Advocate Dhami said that, on the one hand, governments are repeatedly extending special concessions to Gurmeet Ram Rahim by granting him furlough and parole, while, on the other hand, Sikh prisoners who have been incarcerated for a long time are not even being granted parole to meet their seriously ill family members. He said that such treatment raises serious questions about the credibility of the equal application of law and justice in the country.
Advocate Dhami further said that the issue of Bandi Singhs, who have remained imprisoned in various jails across the country for as long as three decades, has also become a symbol of the governments' discriminatory policy. He said that these Sikh prisoners have completed their legal sentences, yet their release continues to be delayed.
He said that repeatedly granting parole and furlough to Gurmeet Ram Rahim, while overlooking his serious crimes for political benefit, and at the same time adopting a discriminatory approach in the case of the Bandi Singhs, is deeply concerning.
Advocate Dhami said that governments must understand that such double standards further deepen the sense of alienation within the Sikh community.
