Anantnag Police Arrests Drug Peddler; Heroin-like Substance Recovered

Anantnag Police achieved a significant success against drug trafficking during a naka checking operation at Achabal Chowk.

During the naka checking, a person identified as Arif Ramzan Mir, S/O Mohd Ramzan Mir, R/O Shangus, who was coming from Shelipora in a vehicle bearing registration number JK03C-4157, was intercepted by the police party. Upon search, 16 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case has been registered under relevant sections of law at the police station. Achabal, and investigation has been set into motion. Further probe is underway to ascertain the source and forward/backward linkages of the contraband.

Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to curb the menace of drug abuse and urges the general public to cooperate and share information related to drug trafficking.

Jammu Police arrested two drug peddlers from Bishnah area.Heroin recovered

Continuing its sustained campaign against drug smuggling and narcotics abuse, Jammu Police achieved a significant success by arresting two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah.

The arrests were made during the investigation of FIR No. 15/2026 under Sections 8, 21, 22, 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act registered at PS Bishnah.
Acting on specific inputs, a police team intensified surveillance in the area.

During the operation, the police team led by SHO Police Station Bishnah,Inspector Rakesh Jamwal intercepted an Innova vehicle bearing registration number PBDT-8788. On conducting a thorough search of the occupants, approximately 15 grams of heroin(Chita) like substance along with 20 Pologesic capsules were recovered.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar S/o Chaman Lal and Ajay Kumar S/o Sat Pal, both residents of Deoli, Bishnah. The recovered contraband and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime have been seized as per law.

Both accused have been taken into police custody, and further investigation is underway to establish their supply chain, including forward and backward linkages in the narcotics network.

Jammu Police reiterates its firm commitment to maintaining a drug-free society and appeals to the general public to cooperate by sharing credible information related to drug trafficking and other criminal activities.

COAS Visits World Book Fair, New Delhi

General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited the World Book Fair at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, today organised by the Ministry of Education. Bootlegger arrested with 15 litres of illicit liquor by Police Station R.S Pura,Jammu

ASI Arun Kumar along with officials was on routine patrolling towards Langriyal, Khana Chak and during patrolling at about 1725 hours an information received through reliable resources that one person namely *Ankush Kumar @ Anku S/o Baru Ram R/o Khana Chak Tehsil R.S Pura* District Jammu is selling illicit liquor (Desi) near his house at Khana Chak.
On this information ASI Arun Kumar along with officials under the supervision of SHO R S Pura,Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar reached on the spot and found a plastic Gallon of light green colour in his possession from which he is selling illicit liquor (Desi) to his customer. During enquiry the said person disclosed his name as Ankush Kumar @ Anku S/o Baru Ram R/o Khana Chak Tehsil R.S Pura District Jammu. On checking of the said plastic bag Gallon, 15 litres approx. illicit liquor (Desi) have been recovered from his possession.
The said person was selling the illicit liquor (Desi) illegally. Therefore, by keeping illegal liquor (Desi) in his possession has committed offence under section 48 (a) Excise Act.
In this regard, case FIR No.15/2026 under section 48(a) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station.
Further investigation of the case is going on.

Lohri of Togetherness: Police Station Gangyal Celebrates the Festival as One Family

Police Station Gangyal, Jammu witnessed a warm and heartfelt celebration of Lohri today, reflecting the strong sense of unity, brotherhood, and mutual respect that binds the police force together as one family.

The celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of SP South Jammu, and SDPO South Jammu , along with SHO Police Station Gangyal, SHO Police Station Satwari, and SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar. All deputed officers and Police personnel's of Police Station Gangyal participated enthusiastically, making the occasion truly memorable.

The traditional Lohri bonfire was ceremonially lit by SP South Jammu and SDPO South Jammu along with the SHOs of the South Division. A beautifully arranged bonfire created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness, which was deeply enjoyed by all officers and personnel present.

As part of the celebrations, special Lohri distribution was carried out among all Police personnel's and officials, spreading happiness and festive cheer. On this occasion, SP South, SDPO South, and the SHOs of the South Sub-Division, conveying heartfelt greetings and warm wishes.

The evening concluded on an inspiring note, with SP South and SDPO South applauding the dedication of the nafri, boosting their morale, and reminding them to carry forward the same spirit of sincerity, commitment, and unity in their daily duties.
